Just got off the phone with Firebrand. The NYPD is jerking us around as usual. We are allowed to go through only on 40th street and will have to converge at the corner of 41st street and 1st avenue.I am updating the hotline 917-387-8865 of any changes.
I will try to post with my pocket pc from the location as soon as I get there. Getting in my car and will try to drive into Manhattan.

Weather, job, need to be near my family, ammo, etc. You know how it goes sometimes.
Stay safe this weekend. Yikes! I forgot to get a case of toilet paper... oh well, I'm glad I didn't throw out the old phone book. ;-)
I may take a run out to the gun show in Upper Marlboro later today...

Kristinn didn't quite make it out to the streets of NYC until just a few minutes ago. He went back to his hotel to change and checkout before joining the Tri-State Chapter Rally.
He was looking out the windows of his 28th floor hotel room onto 3rd Avenue (in the 50's). The march seems to be starting to take up half of the street. So they are going against the court ruling and getting their march under way toward the rally site near the UN.
There are piles of pre-fabricated posters on wooden sticks on strategic corners along the way. These posters are courtesy of IAC/ANSWER. Just who paid for all these signs?
It looks like the NYC police are funneling the crowd up 3rd Avenue and they are not allowing the protesters on cross streets.
Kristinn is off to find the good guys at the Rally in Support of Our Troops and he will be calling in with live updates throughout the afternoon.

I thought so -- especially when we were told that our flags could not have poles but could be mounted on cardboard tubes. But, seriously, when did the liberals and leftists of this world follow the rules that they laid out for everyone else!?

A side note to the Sidebar Moderator/s and Admin Moderators: I have seen a few folks complaining about the FReep announcements and live threads and reports being up on BREAKING NEWS. Hold firm. This is exactly what FR is here for; to inform the readers of where and when our grassroots actions are taking place, so that all can join in.
When you get complaints - remember that James Carville, Bill Press, Tommy Daschle, Patty Murray and other crybabies are unhappy that we have a medium of our own to counter their major-media-stranglehold.
FReep on !!
I second this emotion!

Yes, Curtis Sliwa will attend our rally today but plans to also mosey over to the other. You'd think what with the police presence (Doctor Raoul tells me it is quite significant today) and the Guardian Angels, my hubby would have yielded but he's quite worried about the terrorist threats and asked (err, kinda insisted) that I sit this one out, grrr. Tuned in to CNN hoping we'd get some coverage but obviously they have their own agenda!

The march seems to be starting to take up half of the street. So they are going against the court ruling and getting their march under way toward the rally site near the UN. They're permitted to walk (march?) as long as they leave room for pedestrians to get through. However given their large numbers, either they walk single file or risk getting hauled off to jail. Seems that is precisely their intention as they're fully aware sticks are NOT permitted and no one is allowed off the curb.

They rented the whole train far in advance. I read about it on the dark side.

CNN refused to televise the peaceniks when they called in yesterday. They are pissed off at them. Fox News is down there and I am hoping they go over to your side. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I'll see you at the Sylvan

A bump for Curtis Sliwa. He gave a great speech at the Patriots Rally on January 18 and the Guardian Angels went way beyond duty to help the DC Police keep the anti-war marchers from surging behind our position at the Marine Barracks.

Fox News is down there and I am hoping they go over to your side. It will be a small miracle as they're the only network I couldn't reach by fax. If they cover us, it's due to a marvelous freeper using 'back door methods' lol.

He gave a great speech at the Patriots Rally on January 18 so I heard which is all the more reason we're upset not getting the sound permit. Wonder how good he will be using a bull horn?

They have a guy at the U.N. who was on just a little while ago when Tony Snow was on, but he said the protestors were there but they didn't show a shot of them. The DUers are pissed at CNN because CNN was supposed to have a whole show on the protestors and they were told NOT to do it. Looks like the peaceniks will not be getting the kind of coverage they want.

CNN just showed the crowd described by Kristinn. No one can get through that crowd to the designated protest area. Now, why are they not getting shut down by the NYPD, I wonder.
