Maybe 'Joe Millioniare' Evan Mariott's fake fortune isn't the only thing about the show that is fake.
Skeptics are increasingly wondering whether the entire show is a fraud.
Several of the gold digging bachelorettes have been revealed to be actresses or models, points out one writer.
And one Web site pointedly asks, 'So how much of this reality show is real and how much is purely scripted.'

Yes, but she wasn't even embarassed or surpirsed that it came out.
Not a normal scandal reaction at all..

I do to. He gives me the creeps, and I just can't put my finger on it. I thought it was because he was stupid, but that wouldn't drive me out the door and away from him. Something is not right about him. Maybe it's because he is pretending to be a heterosexual.

>75% of Contestants Worked in Adult Entertainment Industry
What percentage of,
say, actors and actresses
that have appeared on,
say, Seinfeld, worked in
"adult entertainment?" In
today's world, I'd guess
that any "snap shot"
of the entertainment world
would grab old porn stars...

Next on Fox Pay Per View. Orge at the Mansion. Joe Millionaire discloses his real name is "Hard Hat Mac" and ....... Stay Tuned.

Me too, and the fact that he is a heavy machinery operator making 19k a year in California.
He would be living in a hovel not tenant -sharing a 2 million dollar mansion.

American Idol got one also: I didn't know she was taken off the show, but after hitting your link I approve of the decision.

But this was billed by the network (and by trusting/assuming general public) as a 'straight' game show.
The con is that no one said that the prizes (diamond necklaces, ruby pendants etc. were real) so the FCC may not have jusisdiction here.

Nothing risky about it. The whole thing revolves around free publicity. Remember the first commercials didn't tell us what the "lie" was only that there was one. Then some one "broke" the news that he wasn't a millionaire so Fox "spilled the beans". Basically this entire show exists to get reporters digging behind the scenes and giving the show free publicity, because they've told the viewing audience from day one that things aren't what they seem, last episode promised there would be a HUGE twist ending to all this. Most of the people that participate in reality shows are wannabe actors, many wannabe actors do porn during their struggling years, not much broken in this one. I've got a buck that says all of these "cover blowing" stories all came from somebody that works for Murdoch when you follow the corporate chain to the top.

"The FCC has to step in here eventually, this is not a game show it is fraud." Nope, it's pretty much as it appears to be. It isn't "scripted" as such, but Evan does have things to say suggested to him, and there are lots of retakes. And the editing is pure Survivor stuff, done so you really don't know WHAT'S up. The show's producers may or may NOT have done much background checking on the contestants, but any time you take 20 gals off the street, you're bound to get some with some eyebrow-raising things in their pasts.
As for Evan himself, yeah, his last name IS Marriott, but his family appears not to be closely, if at all, related to the hotel chain people. He's done a little underwear modeling (yawn) and he never did work fulltime in the construction biz...but the gay wrestling thing is a figment.
And if Evan's been seen in public without either girl on his arm, well, that's GOOD since it's in his contract that he can't be seen with nor talk about either girl until the series finale airs.
Lemme guess - you think we faked the moon landings, too, right?

Actually I think 'The Real Beverly Hillbillies' on CBS sounds fun-kind of like the Osbournes with real folks!

It wasn't billed as "straight" anything. The very first commercial said that the bachelor was not what he appeared to be, it's been advertised as a series of blatant lies from the beginning. That's been part of the fun.
