AFL-CIO Chairman Says Former NATO Commander Gen. Wesley Clark to Announce 2004 Presdiential Bid

Top Democrats say former NATO Commander General Wesley Clark has expressed interest in running for President of the United States in the 2004 Democratic Primary Season and the American Federation of Labor's Political Chairman says he expects General Clark to announce that he is in the Democrat race in three weeks.

But Clark restated his position Wednesday that he has nothing planned.

The Arkansas businessman and military affairs commentator for the Cable News Network said of the latest prediction, [of his impending three week deadline for a Presidential announcement] 'There's no truth to it.'

'I am not a member of a political party, I am not a candidate, I haven't raised any political money,' Clark said in a telephone interview.

'I don't have any timeline.'

Unless he has some sort of built-in protection from Arkansas, I don't think the Perfumed Prince can withstand scrutiny of his career (early Vietnam) nor his arrogance. Is it possible that money is the collective motive behind the odd assortment of democrat presidential candidates?  Has a loophole been discovered that essentially would  permit campaign funds to be transferred openly to personal accounts.

IMHO, Clark could not withstand a closer look at his unprecedented rise through the ranks and the many accusations of buffoonery that has plagued his career. But what the hell, he is a Rhodes Scholar.

General Wesley Clark was involved in the siege and final assault near Waco, Texas that killed, by a combination of toxic gas and fire, at least 82 people including some three dozen women, children and infants.

As outlandish as this claim may seem, it's a reasonable conclusion that can be drawn by any fair minded person who takes the time to examine the evidence. Further, there is substantial circumstantial evidence that, Clark, in addition to acting as a tactical consultant, may, in fact, have been the prime architect and commander of the entire operation.

That any high-ranking military man could be a Democrat in this day and age is astounding. Clinton gutted the military and sent them all over the world and tried to make it into his own social playground. It is well known that the hard left is extremely anti-military.

Yep. While he was CG of 1st Cav, we called him "Weasely" Clark. He was a classmate of my father's at Command and General Staff College, and was evidently just as big a narcissistic, political suck a** then as he was when serving under Klinton, and as he remains today. He's a heap big loser.

I also worked for Wesley Clark in the early 90's. At that time his nickname was "the Prince of Darkness". He is not a "people person", nor is he independently wealthy (hint: he's probably campaigning for Vice President). He was known to have used and stepped on many people during his meteoric rise to NATO Commander. Rumor has it he barely escaped a "fragging" in Vietnam.
