Businessman and Politics Aren't Mixing in Richmond (Governor Warner a Disaster!)

RICHMOND, Feb. 2 – The Republican-led General Assembly that welcomed Virginia Gov. Mark R. Warner as a refreshing outsider last year has turned on the Democrat with a vengeance this session, bending his agenda to its election-year priorities, according to leaders of both parties.

In contrast to their cooperative start, Warner and the legislature's GOP majority now snap at each other in public. The governor routinely belittles the Republicans' work, and they in turn openly ridicule his grasp of the legislative process. Two nasty confirmation fights, one over a Warner appointee to the state water board, have also tainted the state Capitol's atmosphere.

Anyone remember these idiots who, after 1999, were proclaiming that one of the following-Governor Hodges, Barnes, Siegelman, and Musgrove-was certain to be sitting in the White House someday.

Well, it looks like Mark Warner is fast going down the same road to political oblivion. Although he can't be re-elected, his approval ratings are so low that Bush has nothing to fear from this quarter.

By January 2006, should all go well, we will control all Southern Governorships except Tennessee and perhaps Louisiana.

In a state of giants, a pygmy comes along expecting to elevate himself to their status. Sorry, but George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, George Mason, Patrick Henry, Robert E. Lee and dozens of other Virginia icons so outclass and outshine this low class, easy money pretender that it becomes a laughing matter.

I wouldn't be that cynical on Louisiana until we see who makes it into the runoff. No one had a clue that an obscure 'Rat State Senator named Murphy would be the next GOP Governor 8 years ago. We could see a similar surprise this year.

I dunno. Dan Kyle sounds nice but I think he's got enough blades poised for his back he'd make Caeser wince.

But...but...the RINOs who voted for Warner explained to me that he was "more conservative" than Earley.

Hope they're enjoying all the new abortions, gay "rights" initiatives and massively higher taxers ("Warner will CUT government!" they insisted).

Especially interesting will be the reaction of the scumbag yellow-dog Dixiecrats who CRUSIFIED Earley for being "Anti-confederate" but said NOTHING about Warner's background. I hope he personally comes to their house and takes away their "hertiage". Serves any so-called "conservative" right who continues to PROMOTE and defend DemocRAT rule.

There's an old saying, You reap what you sow.

It was assumed that Mark Warner would challenge Se. George Allen in 2006. At the rate Warner's approval ratings are trending, George Allen will have an easy re-election.

Warner is just another slick Democrat liar...remember his campaign promises of I WILL SIGN A PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION BAN and I WILL NOT SUPPORT A TAX INCREASE?

Each of those lasted less than a few months...Slick Willie with a bank account.

George Allen is Virginia's First Son, Warner wouldnt stand a chance in an election against him.

Thank goodness the Commonwealth of Virginia has a "one term and out" for cases like this though have heard that they may try to change that.

Oh God, have mercy! I don't trust the RINOS Northern Virginia sends down there, either.

We are so full of aliens that although they cannot speak they can manage to vote or be voted. We don't have a chance of placing anyone with nearly conservative values. The Arabs and the Jews, the blacks and the hispanics may fight street turf or land wars against each other but they vote alike in favoring the Democrat/socialist persuasion.

Murphy? Did I miss something? That's a great name for a governor/legislator though. "Murphy's Law" -- ha ha!

I'm sensing he's not too fond of it, he's known by Louisianans as "Mike" Foster.

I was referring to his formal first name, though I didn't mean to... I had his grandfather's name floating in my head (also named Murphy Foster, a turn-of-the-century Governor and U.S. Senator). :-P
