"She gave her life for the family she loved," Gifford said of her "brave little furball." Thank goodness Kathie survived.

How sad. The family must be devastated! These little dogs were Kathy Lee's children until she had her own so this is so hard I am sure. She used to bring the little dogs on her show and they were adorable.
RIP

Bichon FriseSure sounds like an entree in a fancy french restaurant.

As a "dog mom" I can relate to her grief.
Losing a dog is hard but one you have had for 14 years and in such a ugly way.
Sad for the family

Some phone poles around Boulder, CO have interesting juxtapositions: posters supporting the Sinapu movement, reintroducing the wolf to Colorado, and posters for lost dogs, or lost cats... You don't suppose it takes a rocket scientist (no offense, Wile E.) to wonder if maybe they are connected, somehow?

That's not a dog, that's a coyote appetizer.

I love dogs but tell Kathie Lee crap happens waaaaaaaaaa! I cannot believe this made news.

The Saturday morning Fox & Friends crew found this funny. I didn't. With a family pet killed and children in this area, what kind of neighbors wouldn't allow the Giffords to trap coyotes?

So very sad for the pup...but have to admit satifaction that a "lib" is reeping what they sowed... Am just sorry we didn't adopt that poor pup. The coyote would have been dead in an instant! {{{{BANG}}}}}}

Sad.
But, even in L.A. (where people should know better since Canis Latrans is native here), our local coyotes are always sleek and fat on a diet of poodles and cats. Even my rotties are wary of them, if there's more than one.

Finally, some news that's more imnportant than the Columbia terrorist-CIA-Mossad disaster!

I, too, can relate to her grief. Coyotes are around even where I live. I nearly hit one with my car last fall at dusk.

Hmmmm....remember when "varmint rifles" were sort of everyday tools in the family room? Like, say, a 30-30 carbine?
Oh well, these people would rather protect the varmints (read:coyotes) than their pets.
Attention liberal gun-grabbers: you can't have it both ways. You decide: the coyote (natural predator), or your little foo-foo dog (the prey).

That is so sad. I had a similar situation happen a couple of years ago with my beloved cat, and I still think about him and miss him. I hope her grief will not last too long. That is a very painful thing to go through.

How many dogs die in the US every day? Why do they not make the national news? Why is this one different from them? Who are the freaks that really want to know this sort of news story? Who are the lousy reporters that think this is worth putting on the newswire?

I live in Hollywood, CA and, just the other day, on the way up my street (walking) I came within five feet of a coyote.
We have a VERY serious coyote problem here, and it's pretty clear where all those 'missing' pets are going (signs up everywhere).
Too bad nobody is going to do anything about it.
