Have you ever been to Texas? There are huge areas of unincorporated land.

Wow, you can say that again. These past 2 years have been incredible.

Is it possible that the re-entry angle was off? Just speculating.

FOX just doesn't have the resources yet to beat CNN And, what the HECK is Greg (I-Love-Al-Gore) Jarrett doing on Fox?!? I did all I could to get him fired at MSNBC back during the election snafu.

We watched "We were soldiers", with Mel Gibson last night, and I thought my tear ducts were emptied for a while. My parents had watched the lift-off at the cape just 16 days ago, and my Mom was so excited about the spectacle of it all. We so often forget the courage of our service people!

What, exactly, do you know about why the shuttle was lost? How do you know that current shuttle design is the problem? [It could be the problem-- I just want to know how you back up your comment about a "safer design."]

At 200,000 feet or 38 miles up, there is no way to pinpoint it to a specific location. Anyone in an enormous ground are could claim it was overhead. These names being thrown out are not exact and could be inflamatory when you pick out names like Palestine.
Flags to half staff, please.

Oh yeah? Let's see where the money actually goes. My gut feeling is it will line the pockets of various NGO's "condom distribution" and "education" programs, the rest going to corrupt African regimes.
Don't know, but on NPR yesterday they were saying that when this idea first came up Bush had specifically tasked a select committee of advisers to find a way to vector the aid so that it is direct aid to victims, particularly children, and avoids previous efforts going through the tinpot governments.
Not sure how successful that will be, but apparently that was at the top of the list of requirements.

You need a wetsuit to protect yourself from the drooling ravings of the scummy lifeforms at Democratic Underground. They're the true voices of the DNC.

NEVER FORGET!! GET IT !!! NEVER FORGET!!! MORON!!! Take your hatred someplace else. Not EVERYTHING is the fault of Muslims. I think you would feel more comfortable on DUhhh right now. They're blaming this on Bush. I hold you in the same regard as them.
The debating skills are certainly similar.

Thank you.
I just talked to a friend that trains over at NASA and he said he just can't think of anything that would cause something like this.
I'll buy some flowers this AM and take them over to the NASA gate. I'll put FREEREPUBLIC on the card.

Not on the Sabbath. It would be my guess that the Shabbat was over. I don't know how many hours ahead Israel is, but the new day begins at sundown ( from the biblical passage, "The evening and the day were the first day").
It would be my guess that it was past sundown, but am not sure.

Yup - that's correct. The man was a flying history of the Israeli Air Force.
