President Bush underscored last night 'the gap between the chemical and biological weapons Iraq had previously acknowledged possessing and those it can prove it has destroyed.'
Even before Bush's speech (as the AP leaked quotes on the SOTU trickled out) there was evidence that this arguement may be subtly strengthening the admisistrations position in the domestic debate.
Hours before Bush's address Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) told a small group of reporters that that based on Hans Blix's United Nations report, he believed that Iraq was now in 'material breach' of the Bush administration resolution demanding disarmament.
Last week Kerry had accused the President of a 'rush to war' and has urged him to give inspections more time and work harder to build international support for military action.
But on Tuesday, while repeating those arguements, Kerry also said he would be open to a UN resolution authorizing an invasion if Iraq did not disarm in 30 days.
'That would sound pretty reasonable,' the Senator said.
One telling sign- the Democratic response from Asian American Governor Gary Locke of Washington offered no hint of dissent on Iraq and emphasized domestic disputes with Bush.

Right, Half the democrats will oppose the war, the other half are running for President and will act as if they support it (I think only Leiberman truly supports it).

I'm not sure if he was the first Democrat to do this?
I think its more of a simeltaneous thing.
Last night directly after the speech Joe Biden said the exact same thing.
There is no stopping it now! The people of Iraq will be liberated soon!

Liberated? Do you really believe in the fairy tale of a "democratic Iraq." I suppose that you also thought Clinton's intervention in Kosovo was a good idea.

After the slam dunk last night... Kerry seems to be the only idiot scurrying for cover... the rest of the demons are STILL steadily bashing President Bush. Did you see Pelosi laughing during the speech at what the President was saying? Even the massive positive polls won't change their traitorous behavior. Americans need to show them the error of their ways.

Who is going to be able to get to the podium first to get ahead of the other peaceniks denouncing Kerry out of the 2004 Dim Primary field? None. If a democrat wants war, it's ok. Even when it's only to devert attention from a political scandle. It's not peace they want. It's power.
They're inconsistant. If they REALLY were out to stop war, they would protest these Democrats siding with Bush - but you won't hear a peep.

John Kerry flips more often than a short order cook at IHOP. Just last week he said.....real.......slow......."Mr. President DO NOT RUSH TO WAR"
John Kerry and the rest of his party are hopeless and are now becoming irrelevant

Kerry must have seen a little preview of what GW and Powell will reveal next week.
Also, his focus group that he had watching President Bush last night, agreed with President Bush on Iraq:
COMING SOON TO A THEATRE IN IRAQ!

RERUNS WILL BE SEEN IN IRAN, SYRIA, AND NORTH KOREA IF THEIR DICTATORS ARE STILL IN POWER!
