[history]
Did 90 percent of Americans in 2000 really want Gore to concede? Or was the widely reported Fox News poll 'freeped?' A look at the opinion-skewing fad that seems to be giving conservatives the last laugh.

The liberal media have been "freeping" the polls for years by calling up welfare mothers during the daytime to ask their opinions on the issues of the day...

I couldn't get past the "soccer mom carrying a peace sign" image. That ain't happenin'....but I can see why the SF writer might be that out-of-touch with reality.

Someday, 'freep' is going to be in the dictionary. For sure. But I can't help but mention that recounts are the American way. Every apparently losing Republican with half a chance should pursue every possibly practical post-election path to victory, and what's good for the goose . . .

As I recall, some these on-line polls make a point of saying that they are for entertainment purposes. Guess us FReepers know how to be entertained and have a good time.
To: American Preservative
The media folks should know that random sample polling is the only way to go. Although, I don't put too much trust in the media's ability to execute polling that produces results within margins of error claimed.

A San Fransisco reporterette interviewed me today (don't remember if it's this paper or not.) She says that she is trying to write a fair and balanced piece about FreeRepublic and other web sites. She said she had already interviewed someone from DU. It's going to be interesting to see what she writes. If no one beats me to it, I'll post the article when it comes out.
