Free Republic: Bay Area/San Francisco Chapter

Attention Bay Area FReepers:

Some of us have loosely discussed getting the Bay Area/San Francisco FReeper Chapter up and running again. I've been communicating with Diotima, Director of Chapter and Member Services, Free Republic Network, who tells me that there is a chapter, but it doesn't have a leader. When asked if I would be interested in taking up that role, I said yes, but I'm willing to leave that open to all of you. I don't have a ton of experience with this stuff, but I'm willing to give it a go, especially if no one else wants to! As far as the time factor, I imagine it would involve meeting maybe once a month, as well as counter-protests and such, that we already take part in.

So, I'm sending this out to gage what kind of interest there is in reviving the local chapter. I really just wanted to get the discussion going and see what you all think.

There's a decent-size group of us here in the Bay Area (SF, Marin County, Sonoma County, East Bay), but if you don't mind traveling up here from San Jose, by all means, join in! Keep in touch on this thread if you're interested...

One of the problems about Freeping in the Bay area is that, if you walk in any of the public parks where folks walk/run their dogs there is always the chance that you'll step in some pelosi. In the Bay area, it is always a question of trying to scrape pelosi off your boots. Go get 'em!! Good luck and best wishes.

OK, I'm game. Next 'protest' is Feb 15, or the day after the war starts, whichever comes first. Let's make sure we are together for that one. Maybe pre-event stuff in our own areas, then get ready for the SF one (armor would be helpful, I think!). Thanks for thinking of this.
