"For the international community now to say, 'Never mind. I'll walk away from this problem' or ignore it or allow it to be strung out indefinitely with no end, I think would be a - defeat for the international community and a serious defeat for the United Nations process," Powell said in a slam clearly directed at France and Germany. Hear that France and Germany .. even Powell thinks you're acting like a bunch of back stabbing WEASELS

Simply put, the French are terribly confused. The Germans are on their side and now the Frogs do not know who they should surrender to.

Excuse me folks, but the real burr under Powell's saddle seems to me, is that the French have made him look foolish.
Whatever it takes to stiffen Powell's spine is fine with me.

Note to the french and germans:
Your support is neither needed or wanted. The Arsenal of Democracy is perfectly capable of moving unilaterally with out the help of a pair of failed socialist has beens who are struggling to maintain even a shred of relevance in today's world.
You can choose your spots to stand with us, but know that we too will choose our spots to stand with you. When your imbecilic immigration policies lead to your republics being over-run by third world islamofascists, we'll look back on times like these when making the call as to whether or not your worthwhile helping.

We can count on them to do the politically offensive thing, over the right thing then? Such idiocy. If we don't do this, if we were to just sit down and do nothing, they know good and well they would have to, and soon.

Germany and France reveal themselves as the countries with the most to lose once the world discovers what has been going on in Iraq for the past 12 years.

I think we need a Department of Insults. They could hurl creative and hurtful insults at the French and Germans on a daily basis. That would be fun.

'Never mind. Rummy and Powell both bringing the bad cop routine on 'merry old Europe' doesn't bode well for the fading star power of France or Germany. They have scant little time to decide what its going to be; shape up and get on board, or go to the bench and stay there. We don't NEED France or Germany for this battle, and we certainly have other people who would be willing to host our troops (re: Germany). The U.N.'s is confirming its own uselessness except as a platform to maginfy the power of has been European backwaters (re: France).
If they want to quit, and go warm the bench, so be it.
To: GVgirl
German approval and support is a nonissue since they would not be contributing troops or help anyway.
France will fall in line like the cheese eating surrender monkees they are.

It's been over 200 years since the French were of any help to us, so we shouldn't expect any now! Besides, their small impotent army is busy hiding in their wine cellars.

While the governments of France & Germany are behaving disgustingly on Iraq, it'd be a good idea to limit our barbs to those governments & the leftist elements responsible instead of condemning the entire country.
There are undoubtedly good people from those places who visit this board & we should encourage, not alienate them.

If you're not with us... you're with the terrorists. Seems like this should really apply to our "friends" as well.

Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Estonia, Latvia, Romania and Bulgaria also are supportive. It speaks volumes that these nations, which have far stronger economic ties with the Axis of Weasels, are lining up with the U.S.
The people there know which nation supported their liberation from Communism and which nations preferred "peaceful coexistence" (Brandt and DeGaulle).

If it wasn't for us: The Canadians would be speaking French exclusively; The French would be speaking German; The Germans would be speaking Russian; The Russians would be speaking Chinese and the Chinese would be speaking Japanese. Annnnd if it weren't for our good will, the Japanese would be speaking American instead of just thinking American. Annnnd if it weren't for our influence the Egyptian, Jordanians and Syrians would all be speaking Hebrew. The sun never sets on the empire of liberty and every dirt peasant who happily says whatever he pleases about America in his own language, better pray and thank Almighty God for it.

Oh yeah, France and Germany on the same side . . . Bosom buddies. That'll last. </sarcasm>
