Jan 23, 2003 -- The federal joint terrorism task force this morning raided a Leesburg home, loading numerous items from the house into a Ryder moving van. Leesburg Police assisted in serving the search warrant on the single family home located on a cul-de-sac in the Foxridge community in northwest Leesburg.
An FBI spokesman confirmed that the exercise was carried out by the terrorism task force and said that no arrests were made. The search is part of an ongoing investigation and details of the search are not being publicly released. Some neighbors reported being told by agents that the investigation involved a copyright issue.
Witnesses say armed federal agents wearing jackets identifying themselves as members of the terrorism task force and protected by shields surrounded the house at around 6 a.m. The search warrant was executed without incident. Agents remained on the scene for several hours removing boxes of items from the house.
According to land records, the home is owned by Lawrence Cecchini and Billie Co-Tees. Neighbors say the house is rented by a family.

Is a bulletin board from the National Alliance a legitimate news source? If you do, you may be on the wrong forum.

I believe that information from every source should be processed. If a source is of doubtful reliability, that fact is to be taken into account in deciding whether the information it provides is true. If I understand this thread correctly, the information in this case happens to be correct.
I'm unfamiliar with the site. I take it it's neo-Nazi. I'm not in the habit of visiting such sites. However, even less am I in the habit of censoring information.
Did you or did you not ask for the poster's source in this case?
To: aristeides
The poster had more information than in the story. I expected the poster to know the rules of Free Republic and not post a link to a neo-Nazi site. You do agree that posting a link to a neo-Nazi site is verboten under Jim Robinson's rules, don't you?

I'm sorry. I forgot to add that the link to the neo-Nazi site was posted without a warning. It could've been prefaced with, "this is a neo-Nazi board I read. I got the information from there." It wasn't. It was just posted as a link. I expected it to be a newspaper. It surely wasn't.
If you'd like, I can send you a freepmail with the post.

Maybe he downloaded a song from the internetI honestly can imagine this happening. The RIAA already wants to charge internet users a fee through ISPs, and now copyright protection has just been extended. I support the right of creators to profit, but this is ridiculous. Copyright violators are not on the level of terrorists.

To judge by these postings in the
Readers' Forum, the readers of Leesburg Today are not happy about the raid.

I did a search, and the D.C. papers seem not to have reported the search.

What's the circulation of the Leesburg paper? I don't know. It came up while I was doing a google search for stories on the raid.

Hey, Bud, you go right ahead and post articles and links to the National Alliance. In fact, I encourage your to do so. Your time here will be indeed limited and you won't be missed.

I was tired of your tripe..........as a matter of fact.!

Of course you are. But you were cheering on a poster who posted a link to a neo-Nazi board, against Free Republic rules and with a warning to those who clicked through & gave a neo-Nazi site more hits. It does show where your sympathies lie.
So again, if you want to post articles and links to neo-Nazi groups, be my guest.

Anybody have a pic of the Nazis being zapped at the climax of Raiders of the Lost Ark? It would be the perfect "ZOT!" for this clown.
