The largest most recent study ever done, the "Denmark Study" found no link. Almost all of the earlier studies suffered from "recall bias."
Women who have no illness tend not to report having had abortions. Women who have breast cancer tend to report everything they can think of that occurred in their past.
The Denmark Study got around the issue by looking at the records of treatment of a million women in Denmark over the course of about 30 years. The women themselves therefore could not "forget" to mention whether they had had abortions or not.
The American Cancer Society says there is no known link between breast cancer and abortion.

She cites overwhelming evidence supporting an abortion-breast cancer link, commonly known as the ABC link, in the 29 of 38 published studies conducted worldwide since 1957 that show a positive association between the two. Seventeen of the 29 are statistically significant, which means there's a 95 percent certainty that the association is not by chance. The selective reporting in this article is evident. One of the major flaws of all the earlier studies is "recall bias" as mentioned in my post above.
The fact that they completely avoid mentioning such a flaw proves that they are more interested in spreading their gospel than examining medical issues in a scientific context.
Recall bias is real. It invalidates most of the earlier studies, so you just can't pile them up and say they carry the day, because that flaw just accumulates -- it doesn't get averaged out.
Until advocates of breastcancer/abortion/Biblethumping deal with recall bias, they are just spouting their religion, not science.

Spontaneous abortions, or miscarriages, are not generally associated with increased risk, since they generally occur due to insufficient estrogen hormones to begin with. I wish the proponents of the ABC link would STOP saying this. It is simply untrue. There are many many causes of miscarriage. One cause is insufficient progesterone but I have never read of insufficient estrogen being a cause, and I have read extensively although I am not a medical professional.
It is possible that some kinds of miscarriage are associated with lower estrogen levels. It is also possible that there is a more gradual decline of hormones in a miscarriage, rather than a sudden drop in an abortion.
