I'm the one who said something [about Sean Hannity] and I am no disruptor
Sean Hannity's Radio Show

I just heard Sean complain that he is getting attacked by FReepers and implied that it is affecting his support of the site.
I havent seen any attacks on Sean but I did post my opinion that Sean was gonna hang himself with the Trent Lott issue.
And in the end...I was correct.
Lott is gone...like he should be...I like Sean but he got out ahead of the curve on the Lott issue and found himself basically alone.
We all know what was behind the Lott assault and the bias of the Liberal media and the hypocrisy of the Democrats on racial issues but Sean's case appeared to be full fledged support for Trent Lott. Something which most Conservatives did not do...with or without the Thurmond remarks.
Dont whine Sean...next time be on the correct side of the issue.

I think the framers had D&Q in mind when they banned Cruel and Unusual punishment! At least that's what Justice Scalia thinks. I have some of that fancy face recognition software if anyone has a video tape of the anti-war protest last weekend.

You were right.
They landed on Alan's face.

You are correct about constructive criticism and overcooked comments. But, seriously, which FReeper on here hasn't been flamed to the max at one time or another? Which FReeper on here hasn't DESERVED to be flamed to the max at one time or another? Certainly no one that takes any kind of stand. That goes with the territory, unless one is one of the sniveling cowards like . . . well, you know the ones, especially whose names begin with "H" . . . who hit the Mommy button. To me, that was the worst thing to ever happen to FR.
Anyway, if Sean wants kid glove handling, then let us know his handle and we can lay off him. Jeesh.

He shoots straight and without fear of 'reprisal'I respect his ability to articulate opinions but...
when callers or others disagree, he gets rude, nasty, and arrogant, then he whines if someone takes him to task on an issue. If you disagree with him, like on his compulsory patriotism ala required pledge of allegience, he QUICKLY attacks the caller's patriotism. He can be a whiner.
I'm adamantly opposed to forced, mandatory, or forced pledges. And I served in the military under three different presidents. Sean didn't. I served so that people like him can run his mouth for fun and profit.

Saw Sean on the Hannitization tour. He is no Limbaugh, but he is a fresh voice and has a fun show. Limbaugh could learn a thing or two from sean on how to treat callers.

Maybe some ought to figure out what team their on and aim their guns at the enemy. And for those who don't know, the LIBS are the enemy and Hannity is our friend. Sorry, but conservatism, and especially the FR brand of such, is a rowdy, contentious process that despises the notion of marching in intellectual lockstep and fawning upon media figures, no matter who they are. Rush and Sean lurk here for ideas - because the best way to discover good ideas regarding conservative politics is to go to any decent FR thread and observe the local wildlife head-butting each other with their respective opinions. It's a harsh crucible, but from it emerges battle-tested political wisdom that can stand up to attacks from the left, mainly because it survived this joint first, and nothing the left can throw at us compares to the shots we take at ourselves, all in the name of fun. Kinda like the difference between rugby and tiddlywinks - rubgy players beat each other up and go out for beers afterwards, but no one cares to invited the twinkies...

Simple question: Must we go out of our way to be disagreeable or even downright nasty with a conservative that we do not agree with on one issue or several issues? I would much rather spend the energy destroying liberals.

He didn't hang himself with the Trent Lott smear!

Hannity's idea of debate is to phrase a run on sentence and just when the person's eyes begin to glaze he shrugs his eyebrows as if to say, "What say you?" This is true. If libs were smart they would just say, "Would you repeat that question?"
If libs were smart...

Good conservative ideas are not discerned by being able to withstand the most viscious attack by other conservatives. You are assuming that there lies somewhere a repository of conservative truth. If one deviates from you or others consdier conservative orthodoxy, you are drawn and quartered. Liberalism has prevailed because they have not adopted a policy of eating their own. Conservatives could learn a thing or two from them.

Must we go out of our way to be disagreeable or even downright nasty with a conservative that we do not agree with on one issue or several issues? You must not have seen the threads where our President is taken down like a gazelle on the African plains. That is ok, and supported, but someone from a tv show is untouchable?!?! And untouchable ONLY if it is a tv show that is "FR Conservative Approved, please check your manual for details"?.

Keelhauling generally resulted in death.
Drawn is the part where the horses pull in four different directions. Quartered is what you end up with when the deed is done.

You are assuming that the flamed party goes away from the process adopting the views of the prevailing party. I fail to see that this is the case. When I have been flamed, I don't walk away agreeing with the battle-tested approach. That's because I don't walk in lock-step with the parties that flame me. You are reaching dirtboy!
To: Sean Hannity
I found Free Republic from the link that Sean had on his site.
I have nothing bad to say about him at all and listen to his show when I can.

Sean needs to grow a thicker skin... For sure...and if he boycotts the site its a big deal...
To: Bella_Bru
I find it laughable that someone or anyone thinks that they are the fountain of conservative orthodoxy. What makes your view anymore orthodox than mine? What makes W's brand any more pure than Reagan's. At the end of the day, the enemy are liberals. If one empties their clip on their friends they won't have ammo or friends to fire on one's enemies.
To: MHGinTN
Anyone who can put up with Alan Colmes deserves our backing. NOBODY deserves my backing...they have to continually earn it.
To: TLBSHOW; Fred Mertz; Howlin
Let me get this straight. Kiss the ass of the guy on tv, but no holds barred when it comes to the President?
