WASHINGTON - The terrorists arrested in Europe for planning to carry out attacks there with ricin are part of the vicious Algerian network behind the millennium bomb plots in the United States, sources say.

U.S. officials are monitoring the recent arrests in Britain and France amid concern that the "Algerian wing" of Osama bin Laden's terror empire has been activated for assassinations and biological and chemical attacks in America and Europe.

There are probably 1,000 Algerian men in Europe that have connections to Ossama. The task at hand is huge and it will take a lot of courage on the part of France, England and Germany to basically call all of them in and push them back to Algeria. My bet is no one will attempt to kick them out and we will see thousands dead by December...simply because no one wanted to upset the Muslims in their country.

Early this morning, British anti-terrorist police raided a London mosque that, they said, was linked to the ricin discovery.

Once more we fail to find major skullduggery linked to a church or a synagogue. What's wrong???

P.S. that was purposefully religion-of-peace sardonic.

"al Quida do not attend church or go to synagogues last time I checked."

They use the cover of Islam as a religion to disseminate their message of hate. Many Islamic clerics have been outright terrorists, many still are. It's logical and prudent to at least look inside the mosques every chance you get, to insure that they are not also being used as weapons storage areas under religious cover. The police made a good decision.

Unfortunately, the old saying (from the bible?), "There are none so blind, as those who WILL not see.", is alive and well in our media and government.

U.S. officials said the London cells appear to be the same group of former Algerian Islamic rebels who fled their country and aligned with bin Laden in the 1990s.

Does that sound like a description of GIA?

New York Post says:   "British police this month arrested at least 10 Algerian men...in connection with the discovery of traces of ricin in a London pad Jan 5."

Has anybody heard just what the quantity "traces" amounted to? Did they find an otherwise empty bottle with "traces" in it? Or did they take swabs off various surfaces in the house and run chemical tests on them? What prompted them to test for ricin?

Badabing Badaboom suggests:   "It was probably the sacks of castor beans and the home made chemistry set."

Are you just being sarcastic or did they actual find sacks of castor beans and chemical processing equipment? Was this in the news stories?

As uttered in Old Krapistan:

"F'Kallah Deth T'islam"

The best way to end war and ensure peace is to kill the enemy.

He was being sarcastic.
The loony left thinks that only white christian males do these sort of things, so they couldn't possibly find anything in a mosque. So they'd look into a church or synagogue.

At least, that's what the FBI would do, considering you can't profile.

I sincerely hope my castor bean plants don't become a victim of the war on terror. They always look so exotic (and somewhat creepy!) planted along the driveway.

Anyone else landscape with castor bean?

.....al Quida do not attend church...

The church goers are in Boston and are members of the terrorist IRA.

I'm old school, preferring Nightshade, Aconite, and Datura.
