HUGE Press Coverage for FREE REPUBLIC and DC Chapter (Patriots Rally III counterprotest)
many many many! - refer to article | Jeff B.

Posted on 01/19/2003 6:29:29 PM PST by Xthe17th

Thanks to the hard work and perseverance of kristinn and other DC Chapter FReepers, Free Republic got a lot of PUBLICITY all over the nation this weekend. This was due to press releases, faxes and phone calls informing the media of our counterprotests of the bussed-in anti-american leftist scum which polluted the nations capital yesterday and today.

Below is a listing so far of where FreeRepublic was IN THE NEWS:

they had LESS THAN 10,000

It sure looked like a lot more than that to me (and believe me I'm grieving about it). It took FOREVER for them all to go by; I thought I'd never ever see the last backside of that sorry group.

But it wasn't anywhere near half a million. That would have taken all night long. My estimate was mid-to-high tens of thousands. I prefer your numbers.

Hats off to all... but especially to Nina Burke who I think framed the issue in a way that should hit home with most people: disarm Saddam BEFORE a nuke is detonated in NY or Chicago not AFTER. I propose that letters to the editor, future demonstrations, etc. hit hard on that point ... our nation's attention span is shorter than Joe Millionaire's tax return...so it's important to make sure that our visuals & soundbites remind the country that this is NOT the 60s... that 'dialogue with dictators' will only bring us to the eve of destruction.

LOL! As I explained to Sauropod, it is my fault. You told me at least three times not to forget to get them back from you before I left. My brain froze and I forgot you had them until I got home.

No worries. They are a spare pair, and I don't needem right now. Just givem to 'Pod the next time you see him and he can givem to me the next time he sees me. LOL!

Glad you came down for the FReep. We'll have to do it again sometime.

Something else froze on me, but--haha--thanks to you, at least it wasn't my hands...

Just freepmail me your address, at least that way you'll be assured of getting your spare pair back while it's still winter.

Hey, Doc, they were outnumbered 1 to 1,000! One of us is better than 1,000 of them, and one of us can handle 1,000 of them. After all, our ammunition (the American value system) is fresher and more accurate than theirs, and our weapons (ideas that spring from that fountain of FReedom and Liberty) are in much better shape.

Nooooo Worrrrries! We will prevail!

KLT, thanks for being with us Friday night & Saturday! It was great seeing and FReeping with you again. I am sure his Podness thanked you for bringing hellinahandcart down with you, but please allow me to thank you also. Guess one of us mid-staters will have to bring 'Pod to NYC on Feb. 15th to pay you back?

"they had LESS THAN 10,000"

"It sure looked like a lot more than that to me..."

All I know is what I filmed, and that was right during Ramsey Clark's speech to RE-Impeach Osama bil Clinton and just before Patti Smith sang her rendition of "People Have the POWER!!"

Nobody's falling fer this Leftist Anti-American BullKrap this time...the Left WHUPPED the Right's BUTT in the early 70's, but it ain't ever happening again, IMHO!!

Listen to Rush...he's gonna lead a Rally in DeeCee to Support Dubyuh this year...SITYS!!

I already said I liked your numbers better. ;D Maybe some of the marchers were huddled up on the buses keeping warm until showtime. One thing for sure, there were just WAY too many of them.

I felt sorriest for the peaceniks' dogs (surprisingly there were many of them). Four hours and more walking on the cold asphalt, their poor paws must have been frozen. There was one golden retriever that was limping, and flinching at every movement and sound around him---the poor thing must have had his paws stepped on a few times and he was scared to death it was going to happen again. What was the point of torturing the poor dogs?

I did notice one man carrying his bulldog in his arms. And the dog had a sweater on. So that dog's owner was the *one* person in the entire crowd that drew any positive feelings at all from me.

Sheesh, I wouldn't walk across the street to hear Patti Smith, let alone travel by bus.

You know they cheated, don't you?

Many of them went around the block and marched by our outpost more than once!
I saw several of the more obnoxious hand painted signs several times, and that white puppet Caspar the Ghost thingie marched by a couple of times also.

We left when we saw that they were double and triple marching.

We couldn't leave, that mob was between us and our car. Had to wait until they cleared the street.

The sun was going down by then. >:{
