South Park Republicans hate political correctness and this islam is peace bs. They tend to dislike the museum of tolerance and such. I think you need another name.

Sometimes on Free Republic the "Politically Correct" (Free Republically Correct?) stance is to scream "Nuke Mecca", "RINO", "Islam is a Religion of Peace", "Islam is a Gutter Religion" and "ALL muslims are BAD!"

I'm not blind, deaf or dumb...I don't do that.

I don't have a problem with profiling muslims. I understand that the next terrorist attack will come at the hands of a muslim. Keeping an eye on every single one of them is the wise thing to do. But I also know that not all muslims are satan worshiping suicidal madmen.

Nothing "Polically Correct" about that stance. I'm just not a whacked-out lemming.

The national/global attention provides the incentive for local collusive cheating. Take away that incentive and the locals become more self-regulating.

You obviusly don't follow the Little League World Series. It's not some kind of national team that represents the US. It's a grouping of all star players from any given local league in the US. This team won all their tournaments from local sectionals through state titles and regional titles in order to represent the US. It's the Great American Dream.

Corruption is not a problem.

I'll ignore your other post about kiddie porn. It's a moronic comparison with absolutely no merit.

the nut-case Farrakhan has found the ultimate marketing tool for his rant ... the NEA and pop culture are sanitizing this beast such that the Trojan Horse of the culture is invading the USA ...

as if 9/11 wasn't enough to wake even the dumbest people up ... I simply cannot believe it ... I dare say it has created followers as amazingingly impossible as that seems ...

You're the one who didn't want to "limit opportunities" for youngsters.
And I stated upfront that I knew I was using an extreme example to see where you would draw the line.
Can't you grasp the concept? Or do you simply not care for that specific example?
Okay, how about limiting children's opportunities to drive?
Or to get legally married?
Or to drink alcohol?
Basicly, the same principles apply.
Should it be 18-years-old? 14-years-old? 10-years-old? No minimum???

Where do you draw the line?
I already stated where I would.
And I don't see where it "limits" childrens opportunities...
It only postpones them to a more appropriate level of maturity.

Not at freaking baseball, that's for sure!

Little League is good at the local level.
It should not be promoted beyond that for younger players.

It's a matter of priorities.
Have you ever been to Williamsport?
I have. Not in conjunction with anything related to Little League, however.
But as long as I was in the area, I naturally stopped by to see the field.
It is beautiful.
But in the overall scheme of things, it is just another stage for adult entertainment.
It fulfills the ambitions of the organizers and adults, not those of the kids who play.
Rather than seeing parents spend their resources to send their kids to that so-called "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity", I think it makes more sense to direct those resources locally, to improve their own playing fields and local programs. The kids have plenty of time to grow up and compete on a wider scale when they're older. But, IMHO, Little League (and prior to that: T-ball) is where they learn. That's where the resources should be focused.

You don't seem to know what you're talking about.

Kids play in local leagues. Usually 8 teams per league. That league has an All Star Team at the end of the season. That team is made-up of the best players in the league. Those kids play a tournament against other All Stars in the area. Whoever wins that, goes onto the regianal. Whoever wins that goes onto the State Finals (I've been there). Whoever wins that goes to the US Regionals. Whoever wins those Regionals (4 in the country) plays in the Little Legaue World Series. The series includes teams from all over the world.

I guess you want to end the concept of the All Star team that STARTS on the local level? You're against post season tournaments?

Up yours.

At the little league level, post season tournaments and all star games are a waste of time. That time is best spent extending the regular season so all the kids can gain experience and develop better. There's ample opportunity for tournaments and all star games once the kids are older, playing in Pony or Colt Leagues or American Legion Ball.

Up yours.

Nice.

I'm guessing you've never played sports. And I KNOW you've never been involved with Little League Baseball.

You're obviously unqualified to comment on such. I can't believe I've wasted so much time on you.
