A bit before my time, but legendary nonetheless. Hopefully the WWE won't totally ignore his passing.

I remember him from the 1950's and he definitely was the baddest of the bad. I knew he wasn't in good health lately and wondered how he was doing especially since we lost Lou Thesz not that long ago.
A sad day, I hope WWE gives him the tribute he deserves.

The Sheik wrestled on the Indy Circuit up until a few years ago. I've never seen him wrestle, but used to read about his battles with Bobo Brazil, Terry Funk and Pampero Firpo in the monthly magazines.
I don't recall him working for the WWE, (maybe in the 60's) so I don't think they will mention his passing.

I remember him from the 1960s when wrestling was a little (just a little) more realistic. The Sheik actually gouged a mans eye out with a bic pen and went to prision for the offense. He returned to wrestling. I was just a kid and knew it was fake on Saturdays but it was fun to watch... No babes flashing skin or allthe hype, just good physical wrestling, and once in a while there was actually no SCRIPT. RIP Shiek and thanks for the memory - In Yours.

I loved watching wrestling during the early sixties until my dad told me that it was all fake. :(
Whatever happened to "Dick the bruiser?" Remember him?

I loved watching wrestling during the early sixties until my dad told me that it was all fake. My dad actually took me to a live event to prove his point.
