[history]
All through December you were treated to marching children demanding more funding for their schools. And, youve seen educators who explained that the number of school days must be cut, sports must be eliminated, school busses must be exchanged for half-ton pickups towing open trailers, indoor toilets will be replaced by outhouses in the now unusable football field, furnaces will be shut down, school lunches will be turnip soup and a thousand children will have to share each textbook.
And, thats just for starters.

Great! Tell it to the hills, valleys, rivers streams...scream it out, this is the line! If we stop it here it'll be two more years before they make another attempt at our wallets.

I believe that the (faulty) reasoning behind the no-self-pump law is that it creates jobs although in reality (no where near "gub-fantasy-land) the higher gas prices required to employ pumpers inhibits job creation.

I can tell you one group of Oregon voters who will answer yes to that question. They work for the largest employer in the state: the government. Great post of a superb article.

The really tragic thing about it is that if you do cut their funds what they do is punish the public by cutting the visible essentials; i.e., they do throw prisoners in the streets and cut police and fire services.
Now what recourse should a citizen have who suffers harm due to such an action. If a thug is released from jail so that the politicos can keep their perks and a citizen is harmed, shouldn't that person have recourse?
I'm sick of all this "nice nice" when it comes to cutting essential public services and keeping the fluff to force the people to pony up the tax money. Politicians and administrators who pull that sort of stunt should be jailed for malfeasance and extortion and held personally liable for the damages.

Politicians and administrators who pull that sort of stunt should be jailed for malfeasance and extortion and held personally liable for the damages. That's just the catch huh? If we force them to live lean they will keep their pet "cultural heritage" programs and punish the lowly servants that had the audacity to deem themselves worthy of dictating the way their government is run!
And what's more...they control the books therefore no accountability can be attributed to anyone of true guilt.
The solution..weather the storm they bring down until they relent. And they will eventually give up or be replaced. We just need to put on some pants, strap on our boots, discard the panty-hose and kick ass.

No, you're right...but even that rat has stated publicly that we need to straighten up and fly right. He also admitted to government psuedo-lying about "cuts". It's a start although I doubt he'll back it up.

My local gas station just fired the pumper, after the new minimum wage went up. Now the guy who works the register also has to pump gas. He is not a happy camper, having to do both jobs and neither is the guy who's now unemployed.
Thanks you Multnomah County voters!

The solution..weather the storm they bring down until they relent. I wasn't kidding. If it can be proven that they have systematically cut essential services while keeping the fluff, as far as I am concerned there should be prosecutions. Thus your first step is identifying a County having a DA and a sheriff with some stones.
This is where local politics really count. If you focus on electing the DA, the Sheriff, and perhaps a couple of judges, the liberills won't know what you're up to until they're looking out between bars. It isn't expensive and if your cadre knows what's up you can get it done with turnout alone.

Hey man We've got Murray!
hangs head in shame I did hear that Ted admitted that there were "other" cuts that could be made.... But that he did not want to discuss them as it might "confuse" the people considering 28.
Did he say anything today that leads you to believe he might do something along those lines?
