I wondered the same thing about getting replacement divers. Odd with this case getting so much national attention that they would wait until Saturday. IMO, only two possible reasons: inclement weather, or bogus info to flush out the husband. ie) see if he panics.

Don't apologize :) I've heard lots of stories from my cop friend telling about "stinkers". So awful that ya have to laugh!

I went to the KTVU web site but they haven't updated the story yet. One thing that struck me odd was the fact they said the divers visability was poor due to the high current. and they couldn't stay in one place very well. So what kind of an anchor is holding this "body" in place?
To: bonfire
you have to wonder why they are waiting...
here is a question for all you smart people....is it possible that the cops have satelite pics from Dec 24 that might show a boat in a certain location?....I mean, they the cops seem so certain about looking in the water...do they have other proof that we don't know about...

Exactly. And why are they not afraid it won't be swept away with current.... sounds more and more like misinformation to me.

Scott and Laci Peterson intended to have a Christmas Day Brunch and had invited guests (this as per Detective Ridenour, Modesto Police Dept.) That requires preparations and who the heck wants a man moping around the house.
My guess is that she had things to do, Scott would only be in the way and he wanted to check out that Marina up in Berkley.
Please note: this man loved to fish. Their nursery, their little baby boy's room, was packed with fishing related items, according to criminologist Jack Levin.
I would be surprised if the sonar hit at the Marina is a human body. One thing more; Detective Ridenour said they are keeping a close watch on OTHER suspects. The two thieves, maybe?

Am I the only one who thinks that this is ABSURD ???
The guy's alibi is that he was at the Berkeley Marina. But nobody saw him there. So, if he had indeed dumped his wife in the bay near the marina -- WHY WOULD HE TELL THE COPS THAT IS WHERE HE WENT ??? He would tell them he had been somewhere else. Likewise, if he says he was at Berkeley, then her body is surely elsewhere.
There is no way they are going to find his body at the Berkeley Marina. It makes no sense. Why can't anyone else see this?

Why do you think it is just the husband they are trying to flush out? According to Detective Ridenour, of the Modesto Police Dept., they are keeping a watch on other suspects, too.

we are waiting for information just like you...
but at this point, we expect to find a body....and Berkely marina is as good a place as any....
and do we know for a fact that Scotty told the cops he went to Berkely?....could he have said another place, until the cops found the reciept?.....

I'm having a little difficulty believing they're gonna hold off until Sat to dive. Given the relative shallow depths and bottom times, I would think nitrogen saturation wouldn't be a problem after a 24 hour interval.
They are using only LE divers and reportedly, one of them suffered a ruptured eardrum yesterday.
I talked with a couple of the Stanislaus County (Modesto) divers last year. They are well trained and in great shape. Sadly, they go out on body recoveries too many times around here.

methinks battle fatigue has set in on all involved, both looking for laci and those who are here every day, opining, hoping, postulating, dissecting and regurgitating what is a puzzle that just doesn't fit together quite right.
Time will tell.

What about the 100 people murdered in Oakland last year? Why does the media/FR not care about those people?
WHY IS IT SACRED WHEN A WOMAN OR KID IS MURDERED? IS THEIR LIFE MORE PRECIOUS THAN MINE? DOES SOCIETY VALUE MY LIFE LESS? YES!! THERE IS NO DEATH PENALTY FOR KILLING A STRAIGHT WHITE MAN. THERE CAN BE DEATH PENALTY FOR ANY OTHER MURDER BECAUSE OF 'HATE' OR JUST 'BECAUSE' (kid in San Diego).
THINK ABOUT IT. THINK ABOUT IT. Why is my life worth less to society? I can be murdered and nobody would care because the media would not coax the emotions out of you. You care about the lady. Why would you not care about me? Why do you care about the kid in San Diego? Is her life more important than mine? If I were killed would you even know? Would you even care? Tell the truth. Tell me the truth. I can handle the truth.

Remember when we did the "crime scene" in front of his District Office?Heh, heh. Yep.
You should see the office now - Empty with a sign on the door stating the office has moved to a new location.

I think they are scuba per the shots they show, the depths they have been exploring near the marina are relatively shallow. Im not sure about the other locations but I think they were scuba as well.

nobody would care much about me either...a middle age woman with mostly grown children with a few extra pounds...I would be on the back page faster than Clintoon can make up a lie....and that is pretty fast...
Laci P. is/was a very pregnant young woman, and in this society there still is some reverence for pregnant mothers, as well as other vulnerable groups such as children...
I don't believe in any of the "hate" crime legislation...I think all life is important...
I guess a lot of us just think that the depravity level of someone who would harm a baby or child or a defenseless woman to be a lot higher than hurting the rest of us....older women included....

There is no way they are going to find his body at the Berkeley Marina. It makes no sense. Why can't anyone else see this?Maybe he thought someone saw him at the Marina so he decided to volunteer his location. As for him getting a lawyer, I don't know what I would do if my wife and/or daughter were murdered and the cops fixated on me as the suspect. If I told them everything I knew but they still aggressively inestigated me, I might hire a lawyer. My wife thinks that hiring a lawyer means he's guilty (ala the Ramseys).
I also don't think going fishing on Christmas Eve means he's guilty. How often did he go fishing? Was the weather especially nice on that day, ie. a great day to go fishing? How long before the trip did he buy the boat?
