I wondered the same thing about getting replacement divers. Odd with this case getting so much national attention that they would wait until Saturday. IMO, only two possible reasons: inclement weather, or bogus info to flush out the husband. ie) see if he panics.

I went to the KTVU web site but they haven't updated the story yet. One thing that struck me odd was the fact they said the divers visability was poor due to the high current. and they couldn't stay in one place very well. So what kind of an anchor is holding this "body" in place?

you have to wonder why they are waiting...

here is a question for all you smart people....is it possible that the cops have satelite pics from Dec 24 that might show a boat in a certain location?....I mean, they the cops seem so certain about looking in the water...do they have other proof that we don't know about...

Why do you think it is just the husband they are trying to flush out? According to Detective Ridenour, of the Modesto Police Dept., they are keeping a watch on other suspects, too.
