Arizona Senator John McCain praised President George W. Bush on Monday's 'Imus in the Morning' politcal radio program for denouncing Former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott's racially offensive statements last month.
But he then added that he regretted not challenging the current U.S. President over racists tatics allegedly employed by Bush supporters during the electoral showdown in the 2000 South Carolina GOP Primary.
McCain sounded uncomfortable while discussing the episode on the radio program, which reportedly incuded attacks on his adopted Asian-American daughter using a racial slur.
But the Arizona Republican made clear that he considered holding George W. Bush responsible in the exchange with morning radio show host Don Imus.

McCain is nuts. There were no racial slurs in that election. What happened was Freepers gaining a ton of information on McCain and his past and flooding the SC media with it. It was not orchestrated by the WH but by concerned Republicans that knew McCain who courted the RAT vote was wrong for the Party.
I remember the Freeper that had so many links to bad info on McCain that he had to send it in parts when asked as it was too large for one email. That information all went out to the SC media.
Looks like whiney mccain just won't let it go. He lost and if RATs wouldn't have crossed over, he would have lost even bigger. The media daring who had the support of the media couldn't get their vote because for the most part they are RATs, and he never seemed to get it that the media not rank and file Republicans supported him.

Nothing like adhering to the 11th Commandment.

McCain needs to start walking the border, and patroling his own state.
To: widowithfoursons
Good point! He should be more worried about illegal immigration!

McCain is either making excuses as to why he lost, or setting the stage to run as an 'I' down the road.

MCCAIN: Yeah, no, you have to get over these things. You have to move forward and it's in the best interests of the country to do so. (End Of Excerpt)
OK, get over it.
To: an amused spectator
McCain obviously never found a leader he couldn't critique.

What attack is he talking about? The only one I recall using a racial slur is McCain when he talked about the "gooks." What a nice guy. He's got an adopted Asian-American daughter and he uses that term? If anything, McCain pulled a Robert Byrd on his own daughter.

A good friend of mine knew McCain personally when he lived in Az and had passed out fliers with questions asking McCain why he didn't vote against the proposition to cut funding from communist countries (I may not be saying this correctly) since McCain been a guest of the commies himself. McCain saw him at a town meeting and began to swear and call him all kinds of names in front of all his constituents. He has a very nasty temper.
To: Howlin
This is certainly news to me.
I do recall McCain's use of the word "Gook," in describing North Viet Namese, however.
