OPERATION INFINITE FREEP After Action Report from Louisville, KY !!
Posted on 01/05/2003 7:44:02 PM PST by strick68
OPERATION INFINITE FREEP opened a new front tonight in Louisville, KY!! My thanks to bluesagewoman, Trteamer and all the honored FReepers out there who gave me great ideas and advice for tracking down the website of our local peace wackos. Their http://www.louisvillepeace.org site gave me all the intel I needed to get us organized. They conducted a rather quiet candlelight vigil/war protest in front of U.S. Rep. Anne Northup's house. I met up with a fine young man from Bellarmine University who is the President of the campus Republicans and we got our FReep on. Thanks to the Colorado FReepers for their "Blessed are the Peacemakers. The Army, Navy, USAF & Marines!" sign idea because that one got a great response from passing motorists. Our other signs were a "Honk if you support our troops" and a Bush/Cheney campaign sign. And what FReep would be complete without Old Glory Herself. We sang the Natl. Anthem, God bless America, quoted JFK's great line: "We will negotiate freely but we will not negotiate Freedom" and sang my favorite-the 3rd Infantry Division's "Fight Song" from the movie "To Hell and Back" with Audie Murphy. Of course the peaceniks weren't pleased that we were there but they didn't get ugly since it was supposed to be a candle vigil but we hollered our lungs out and got tons of honks from folks showing support for our troops. I imagine their next scheduled event will not be so orderly but we're ready for them. We've organized and the Bellarmine Republican's Pres. said he'll bring a full contingent to the big protest downtown on Wed. Jan 15th. I thank all the dedicated FReepers out there for encouraging me to get off my duff and do something to support Pres. Bush and our troops. And thanks to Jim Robinson for FR. May God bless America. "Rock of the Marne" and FReep on!!!

Great job! I wish you had invited me to join in the festivities. There are more of us nearby.

Actually the credit for the Peacemakers sign goes to fivetoes out in Colorado. Please see his "Colorado style Jan 4th 2003" post on the OPERATION INFINITE FREEP page for his exact words that he said into his bullhorn. Making that comment into signs is a great idea!!! I can't make it to D.C. but we're going to handle them down here on the 15th. And please tell Rep. Anne Northup I'm sorry for all the trash on the sidewalk in front of her house tonight! LOL! A thunderous "Rock of the Marne!!" for our 3rd Infantry Division!!

Welcome to the club! - THE FEW! THE PROUD! THE FREEPERS!
That makes DC, Fresno, Columbia MO, Ft. Collins CO, Boston, and now Louisville KY on the nationwide FreepMap. Yea!!
I only regret that my dear old Aunt Olive - longtime Louisville resident - passed away 5 years ago. She would have LOVED to go out there and Freep with you.
Can't wait for some photos one of these days. I look forward to your future reports.

I hope someone from the local FReepers or the Bellarmine Republicans will bring a camera to the big rally on Jan. 15th. I don't have a digital camera and sadly I wouldn't know how to post the pics here on FR. We'll try though. Thank you for all the FReeping you guys do as well.

Great freep report! Thanks for getting out there in support of the troops. I like your message and it will be incorporated into the DC response to the anti-war rally/march on January 18.
"Blessed are the Peacemakers. The Army, Navy, USAF & Marines!"

Thanks for the link to the opposition web site. The 4:30 pm start is a little early for my schedule, but I'll see what transpires this week.
To: Angelwood
The credit for the "Blessed are the Peacemakers..." needs to go to fivetoes out in Colorado. I read the latest Colorado FReep report and thought it was a great idea. Thank you fivetoes for your inventiveness.
