Ha! Remember those from my days in Shore Patrol...PR-24 I think. With the 90 degree handle, all sorts of contortions you can exact on these blockheads.
To: Brad Cloven
Yup. And I read recently that for the first time, there are more people moving out of the state then into it...not to mention their socialist economy is strangling them.
To: Geezerette
Hi, Seetie(g)!!!! I raise you're bump with another one!!!!
To: ppaul
Maybe they should go to Bagdad and be human shields :-)
To: ppaul
So, they want to shut down the cities? Fine...no truckers from the red zone will drive in there with food and it'll be a matter of time before civil war erupts between the city residents and the anti-war idiots. Instead of no war, they'll have one right on their hands.
Bring it on, then. Another example of liberal adolescent reasoning. And if you live in the city, make sure you stock up.
To: ppaul
The local media scum have been hyping this for days now.
They're promoting a high turnout by ADVERTISING all the particulars including web sites.
The local rat b*st*rds at NPR of course are doing even more.
Given Seattle's notoriously socialist and anti-American police Chief Kerlikowske & mayor Nickels, who have a history of pandering to these forces, I fully expect a major riot.

Not when the city is Seattle and a Congressman (traitor McDermott) LEADS the marches! - as he has in the last few weeks - after comparing Bush to Hitler at speeches after his triumphant return from shi**ing on America in Iraq.
See also: traitor WA Senator Patty Murray.
Osama and Saddam have MORE support in Seattle than Bush!

I know what would put the fear of God into Saddam to the point he'd buckle and run and we wouldn't have to go to war. Take out Seattle.

They've also shut down I5, the largest North-South interstate a number of times.
It is between where the marches start - Capitol Hill (Seattle's ground zero for all things anti-American) - and the downtown core business district where they end up and the rallies take place (Federal building, Courthouse, shopping icons).

Agree. Their coffee sucks. Must have been brewed with bilge water.

How about the Hollywierds, the leftist college professors, that would be a good contribution.

Yeah, I hear you on that... There is nothing 'spontaneous' about these protests. They seem 'Orchestrated' to me, with the blessings of the teachers union it seems if the High School Students are walking out too. Im afraid that the claim of 'spontaneous anger' is nothing more than a false claim of legitimacy.

P.S. Yes, I know it's a PR-24, not a nightstick. Same principle.

"I didn't see any reference to "aid and comfort to the enemy" in the article, where was it?"
In the promise to create expensive, dangerous civil disturbances if their friends and sponsors are attacked.
Fifth column, sabotage, insurrection, diversion.
If things get so bad the Guard is needed, that's uniforms that cannot be sent overseas.
Plus the overall global propaganda value.
Just because the phrase "aid and comfort" is not explicitly used, does not mean that aid and comfort is not given.

they all have a sort of "Verizon commercial"-esque thing going. Self-absorbed, worldly, cool, ambiguously gendered...

These people have no idea what its like. With all due respect, I don't think these people really care at all about this. I don't believe most of them are all that concerned about war itself as they would have you believe. This is about politics. Their leaders are not in charge of the playbook you see. That is really what this is all about IMHO.
To: ppaul
interesting how these people think that aggravating entire city populations will be good for a cause. It's like the jack*sses that have been covering this city in anti-war graffiti for the past year. "Maybe if we spray ugly graffiti all over the place, on public property, people will finally realize how correct we are."
