I think Bonior is looking for a job.
Maybe he'll run as Daschle's Veep.

Wonder if the Kennedy bootleggers will give Daschle some firewater for his home state get-out-the-vote Indian reservation drive. They already have free coats compliments of the Senate race...time for something else to keep the voters warm.

Actually I think all this is a graceful way to duck out of running for senate again and having his backside handed to him by the good people of South Dakota who are humiliated over what he and his DNC cohorts pulled in the last election. He'll quit to run for president, figure out he hasn't a chance, and retire.

Bumping the obstructionist!

Does South Dakota have a Republican governor who could appoint a Republican replacement for Daschle if he would decide to run for President???

Inquiring minds want to know!

didn't SD just change their rules and Dashole can't run for Senate and President at the same time??

I've read that too.

I live in the soccer mom world (20% of the vote)in the People Republic of Maryland. Helping the homeless, saving whales and rainforests are soooo cool until their babies are threatened. Then it's screw the homeless, screw the whales, screw the rainforest. We want security.

The Rats missed the soccer moms on the last elections. The Moms realize that the demorats put social programs before security, before their babies, and it's not gonna fly.

Despite the call for full disclosure, the Daschles refuse to make their tax returns public, reports New York Post's Deborah Orin,

If he runs for President .. doesn't he have to disclose his tax records??

This thread is getting more enjoyable as it goes on! Now THAT would be a carnivorous treat for a Conservative Dog!

Maybe it means he's truly deluded and thinks he can win (steal)? You know this, and I know this, and the rest of the thinking world knows this.. but heck. Maybe he's thinking of his legacy. Slick could have convinced him that history will remember his "sacrifice" for the cause of democracy.

Happily, anyone can run for the office of the President.
But only a few can stand in the shoulder to shoulder with giants.

Here's to you, America
God Bless our Home,
the Land of the Free
and the Home of the Brave
Happy New Year--2003

.....somebody rides in to rescue the Party!

Somebody! will only enter if the polling shows that she could win. The dims have a very early primary, which could cause problems. It's definitely not between Somebody! and the dims, but more between Somebody! and GWB in November. Unless it is clear that sho would prevail in November, she will not accept the dimo nomination, and thus they will announce a sacrificial candidate -- Kerry, Edwards, perhaps Daschole or even Lieberman.

Yipppppeeeeee!!!!

You know what this means don't you??

It means HE HAS TO GIVE UP HIS SENATE SEAT in order to run for President. Gov of SD signed into law - person cannot run for 2 spots at once (like Loserman did in Conn.).

Now, SD Gov (repub), can appoint an interim person to take Daschle's old spot!! Guess Thune will make it to the Senate after all!!!!! That give the repubs HOW MANY ...???

He might as well run, elsewise he will be spending the next six years sitting on a toadstool in the minority office.
