What a sweet doll-baby! :o) My daughter was a preemie...wish I had a scanner to post her newborn picture. :o) In fact, all my sisters had preemies, the smallest of all was 3 lbs 8 oz, 16 inches long. Sweet babies. :o)

She is perfectly healthy, by the grace of God. We were very blessed (not lucky) with her birth and subsequesnt fight for life. She is our miracle that never ceases to amaze us. Now if she just weren't so dang hardheaded.....Hey......that hardheadedness is a blessing too. When she's 13 and her peers are trying to talk her into doing things she knows are wrong, she won't listen to them either! :o)

(Trust me, I know these things!)

btw, your saying 'not lucky' reminds me of my Dad, who never let us use the word. He'd say, "You aren't lucky, you're blessed." He was right.

I used to use the word lucky haphazardly, but when we were in the hospital with the baby, we were in Houston during the big flood of 2001. And I asked a nurse one day if her house had been flooded. She told me that her neighbor's house had been flooded and they lost nearly everything, but just next door, she (the nurse) did not get any water in the house. She used the word blessed. She said, "We were truly blessed." At that moment, I realized that we too were blessed, and that luck had nothing to do with the reason that our 2 lb, 2 oz., 11-week premature baby had survived and progressed right along with no problems whatsoever. There was an army of folks praying, literally around the US, and that right there led to the blessing. It was a hard habit to break, but I have tried to eliminate the phrase "'we are lucky" from my vocabulary.

One of the firemen had lost (I think this is right) three of his sons, who were either firemen or policemen. I think this man lost one or more sons at the WTC. Look at the intense expressions on the men's faces surrounding the fireman in question.
