Did you mean you and Woodward, or you and me?
I am sometimes easily confused.
To: Miss Marple
Thanks, Miss Marple!
Yeah, Woodward had me fooled into thinking just that!
He pretended to admire GWB just to sell his book.

Now you should know that Woodward has been typecase since the 70's, and he will do anything to keep his name in the byline. (All journalists, whether they admit it or not, are egocentristic and live having some spotlight, no matter how unflattering it is. (Well, maybe not Ann Coulter, who isn't a journalist by trade...)
Personally, he should have retired 10 years ago. His journalism would make the muckrakers of last century proud. ('cept his methods are so junior high schoo.....)

Whoa, he sure doesn't look like he's in a very good mood.Fer sure. It makes me wonder if we shouldn't be on "red alert" status. He's not grumpy by nature, and his family usually makes him even happier.

Happy birthday pippin!
You got lucky with a birthday on the 26th, didn't you?
I wouldn't read George and Laura either. Looks like an uplifting book, says he's changed but chronicles in great detail every grungy thing he ever did. I felt really bad after reading it. Now I'll keep the Woodward book off my list as well.
I'm reading Theodore Rex now, I didn't read it when it first came out and really enjoy it. There are a number of things that remind me of W. This book presents several aspects of his character which surprised me. Theodore Roosevelt had a lot of boyishness and exuberance, loved sports. That reminds me of W.

Thanks !
I had a great Christmas, I'm a bit tired but that's mostly from my move. I see CMSGOP also has a new home as well.
Congratulations on your new place, CMS!

I haven't read Theodore Rex yet, but I'm reading the one about Edith Roosevelt. I get glimpses of Theodore in it. I'm going to have to get Theodore rex.

I read the book and was expecting Woodward to be rideculing the President more than he did. My overall impression was the George W. Bush is definately in charge. But I agree that he paints the Administration as clumsy and Afghanistan was just dumb luck. I do believe though, that Woodward was surprized at George W. Bush's leadership abilities even though he did his best to drop in subtle slams
