He probably just read that stupid Woodward book, which I just finished (received it as a Christmas present). It is NOT recommended by me, as Woodward leaves out important things, emphasizes the disagreements in the cabinet, and makes it seem like no one really knew what they were doing and that the entire Afghan campaign was a huge stroke of luck. Rumsfeld is portrayed as deceptive to the press, Powell as always in trouble with the President, Cheney as being too apt to go to war, Rice as indecisive, and Rove only appears for that stupid Nazi comment.
The President comes through as pulling all the pieces together, but Woodward takes digs at every single person in the cabinet.
I should have never read the darn thing...put me in a bad mood.

Only a family issue could make a strong man look like that......must be the girls.I disagree. Go back and look at the photos posted under # 2,,,Laura is looking skeptically at Barney, as if to question whether or not Barney will actually straighten up and get the act together. I don't think it is the girls, I think it's the dog. *Wondering what Barney did to Air Force One*

Is Barney a "He"? There's our first hint! LOL

I wished i'd have read this before buying that book!
I only peeked a little into it and was not impressed.
If I'd have asked you or one of the other Dosers about that book I would have saved me some money by not getting it.

**he sure doesn't look like he's in a very good mood.**
Maybe he just has a lot on his mind.

About the only thing we agree on is that Bush pulled the pieces together.

I think it looks like the president just woke up. Look at how messy his hair is.

My husband bought it for me for Christmas. Since he tried so hard to get me things I would enjoy, I thought I would go ahead and read it, since there were mixed reviews on the thing.
Personally, I think Woodward has very cleverly used his writing skill to portray the administration as something they are not. He jumps around, leaves things out, and makes Powell's thoughts sound very literary, while he quotes the President directly, leaving in stammers and stuff.
A Citizen Reporter was exactly rigiht. Woodward is a snake, and I do NOT think he admires the President, I think he was saying things in order to trick people into buying the book.
Well enough about that.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PIPPIN!!

I made the Peppermint Bark with Dark Chocolate (accidental purchase by Mr. Maigrey) and it turned out supurb! My sister is getting a batch, and I'm keeping the rest.

That's what I'm thinking, too. They both have that slightly groggy look that one might have after taking a nap.
