Christmas Eve Log-Off Appeal (Vanity)
Christmas Eve, the 2002nd Year of Our Lord
| Me
Posted on 12/24/2002 4:18:12 PM PST by FreedomCalls
I appeal to all Freepers on Christmas Eve in the 2002nd Year of Our Lord, to log off and go spend some time with friends and family. In the end when you meet your maker, you will not have wished for more Freep time, you will have wished for more time with your family and friends.
Those who have just opened up a new computer and are trying FR out for the first time are excepted and are welcome here.
Also try to remember in your prayers those who are far away from friends and family tonight who are either working keeping the rest of us fed, safe, and happy or those away defending our country.
Thanks for your time.
Good Bye, Good Night, and have a Merry Christmas y'all.

Kiss the little ones before you tuck them in bed tonight and thank God for allowing you the moment.

Dear FC, what a lovely thing to say. Some of us are alone tonight. No weeping here. I will be with my darlings on Thursday. In the meantime, I am comforted by my love for God and with this place called FreeRepublic.

I've had enough of family and friends! Watching drunk Cajuns try to play Twister is not my idea of Christmas Eve fun.
I've been to Mass, had a couple of Cabernets, a rib eye, and a wonderful piece of banana bread.
I'm going to do my best to brighten Christmas Eve for lurkers, visitors, new computer users, and Democrats for whom Dec. 24 is just another Tuesday night.

My wife is at work, and she won't be home until 12:30 this morning. Who else am I going to spend the evening with?

LOL what a mental image that inspires.

Don't leave out your FReeper friends. I went to Mass tonight. Peaceful and I was left with my own thoughts. However, I missed my Lulu dumping all of my change under the pew and Chrissy standing on her head halfway through. I learned to make sure she had cute underwear. We will be together on Thursday. Peace of Christ to you, Cajun.
HELP!

Peace of Christ to you, Cajun. I'm not a Cajun, but my wife and in-laws are.
There's nothing like a Cajun Christmas. Lots of food, fun, and friends. A vacation in Louisiana requires four or five days of rehab in Texas. Luckily, that's where I'm going on Thursday.

My wife has the 3 PM to 11 PM shift all this week. Her "weekend" was obliterated when she was called in to support her supervisor after an officer involved shooting occurred on Saturday.
Merry Christmas!

When I was at Fort Dix for basic training in 1968 there was a platoon of Cajuns in my Company. They were kept together because they were all from the same Army Reserve unit. I witnessed some of that drunken Twister you speak of and I still have nightmares because of it.
A nice tawny port might go well with your second slice of banana bread.

Hey, Sungirl. You can always go watch Lord of the Rings again! That is if you have any hair left to pull out.

And a Merry Christmas to you and your family, Cagey!
What's the word on Parcells up there? All I'm getting down here is the el-foldo of the Saints.

I'd go watch The Two Towers again, but it's cold outside and the new puppy and I are destroying one of her stuffed animals.
Ok, she's destroying, I am trying to keep the mess to a minimum! :-)
We're going to do the nice quiet Christmas this year, I think I have had enough excitement for one year. I will take my blessings and hold them close, for as an exciting year as it has been, nothing massively bad has happened.
(musing voice) Cajun Twister?? lol (/musing voice)
To: sinkspur
All's mum on Parcells here today. It will probably stay that way until the Giants next loss and then everyone will be calling for Fassel to go and beg for Bill to come home. NY fans are like that, as you know.
Enjoy your visit in Louisiana and I wish a very Merry Christmas to you and yours.

This is getting scary, now. There is a Cajun Twister Team. Notice the beer bottles on the floor behind the team.

My wife is an emergency services dispatcher. My sister is an RN too. My boss will be holding the fort by himself tonight as well...his wife is an RN too.
We will light a nice fire in the fireplace at 11:30 PM. There is a light snow falling outside. The reflection from the street looks like diamonds were tossed out there. Our celebrations will simply occur a bit "off schedule" from everyone else.

ROFLOL! Ok, now I'm worried.
But it's amazing what a little libation can do for the twisting ability. lol

You can always go watch Lord of the Rings again! I look forward to watching that again when I go into a coma.
