If a major war breaks out in Iraq, the first thing Rev. Stuart Fitch plans to do is pray, sending love to everyone from Saddam Hussein to President Bush. Then he'll call his congregation to church for a service.

And then, perhaps, the 78-year-old Episcopalian clergyman will get himself arrested.

Perhaps the Rev would care to do this in Iraq? Wouldn't that make a stonger statement? Why not take the mountain to Mouhamad, Revvy??

You're absolutely right.

Nobody asked my opinion, but quite frankly I believe the U.S. news media is engaged in a conscious effort to provoke, promote and publicize these so-called "demonstrations" for no other reason than to humiliate the current administration and this country.

I'd love to see one-just one-"journalist" have the cojones to ask these cretins if they'd have the guts to protest in Baghdad just to see how fast they can outrun a bullet.

Is Santa Cruz part of San Fran Nan's district?

Nah. We in the 17th Congressional District are "represented" by Sam Farr (D-Carmel). He is comparable to Nan in intelligence, but a little farther to the left.

I am absolutely disqusted in the moral standing of the church in the United States. The fact that a council of clergyman can morally justify leaving a monster that has mamed and killed his entire political life is horrendous. Where are the conservative values that drew so many to the church? Who will set the moral guidepost to lead the youth of tommorow? Are there any ministers left with backbone in the main denominations?

THE (stupid reporter didn't know enough to use the article) Rev. Stuart Fitch exemplifies the reason I left the Episcopal Church. Over two decades ago it was already obvious, even to me, that it was hopelessly ensmeshed within the serpentine coils of rank liberalism and gone apostate.

If by "main denominations" you include the Episcopal church (known nowawdays as "ECUSA", formerly "PECUSA"), the answer is yes. But they are a minority, and their numbers are dwindling.

A visitor to my Anglican church yesterday noted that there were still three (only 3!) believing bishops in ECUSA. By naming the Right Rev. David Schofield (Fresno, CA and vicinity, name of diocese forgotten) as one of the three this visitor established his bona fides. But as the visitor pointed out, when these three retire, at age 72 (? 72 is for ministers, but also for bishops?) as required by canon law, what will replace them?

My father, a semi-retired ECUSA minister, notes that this has been a long time coming. The rot has eaten deep within most of the Episcopal seminaries for a long, long time...

Those people are just orcs.

They are as ugly as orcs, and bow to Sauron and Saruman.

The fight between good and evil. We will prevail and God *is* on our side.

THE Rev. Stuart Fitch exemplifies the reason I left the Episcopal Church.

In early 2001 I returned to the Episcopal Church after a 35 year absence. After talking to two Santa Cruz County priests and one priestess, I found myself wandering into my local Catholic parish for a look-see. I was confirmed last Easter.

This will be a second childhood for the Radical Left. It will also give a "face" to the Radical Left that can be exploited by Conservatives.

Activists in more than a dozen cities have announced where and when to meet on the first day of war -- what they call "The Day Of."

You mean these people aren't going to show up at their jobs? Gee, can the economy withstand the impact?

Peace organizers also said new technology -- e-mail distribution lists, Internet listserv Web sites, cellular telephones, pagers and other devices that help get the word out quickly -- are helping their effort. There are telephone trees from Olympia, Wash., to Fayetteville, Ark., and e-mail lists at peace and justice centers around the country with thousands of names ready to be dispatched to demonstrations.
