Found on the web. Anyone know anything about this? Is it staged? Where did it happen? And, last but not least, was it already posted?

Two gets you three it's fake. A missile that fell of its plane and landed on non-skid before igniting would not fly straight; it would have torn itself to pieces long before it got to the end of the flight deck. Besides, you can be sure there'd be sparks and a lot more debris.

Was John McCain the pilot?

Plane hits the wire and a previously secured missile takes a ride.

McCain may have been the pilot, but Ted Kennedy was driving the police car.

My Niece used to date an aircraft mechanic from Eglin. That actually looks like his car, although I doubt it is.
The plane is from Eglin tho.

Stinking police think they can drive anywhere and anyhow they want to.

It looks as if it's being propelled...isn't there an exhaust trail in the photos?
To: New Horizon
I'm guessing it would be a bigger trail than that.

It looks as if it's being propelled... It does, and the shadow makes it look like it is an inch off the deck, but I thought those things had a lot more smoke in the exhaust.

"Plane hits the wire and a previously secured missile takes a ride."That was my thought. It looks like it's going way too slow to have been launched. They would be hard pressed to get these pictures that are so clear if it was truly a misfire. My understanding of these kinds of armaments is that they accelerate to well over Mach1 in a matter of seconds (no, I'm not an expert, but I do read a lot of Tom Clancy, LOL!).
