Carville, host of CNN's Crosssfire, faxed a letter to Lott's office Wednesday, both accepting the Senators apology and pledging not to criticize him further for comments made recently or for comments Lott had made in the past on the issue of race.
'If as you have claimed, your recent troubles have truly spurred you to seek redemption and find ways to improve race relations in this country, I applaud you,' Carville wrote.
'Remember Senator, we all make errors. Committing errors is not a tradegy, but failing to learn from them is a grave one.
You say you have learned.
I believe you.
That settles it.'

The Dims are desperately trying to keep Lott aboard.Exactly! Another fine mess they've gotten themselves into, LOL. Just like the Iraq debate, they yelled and yelled for it, then they got it, and realized "Oops".

Let's see. Lott has Jumpin' Jim Jeffords and James "Serpent Head" Carville on his side.
Yup, that should be enough to persuade the conservative base to rally round Trent.

Courting him to try to get him to cross over to the dark side?

You got that right. The Dems would like nothing better to have Lott around so as to continue there portrayal of the Republicans as racist.

This shows the ignorance and stupidity of the early Democratic calls for Lott's removal. They seem to have forgotten to old saying, "Be careful what you wish for!"
Good riddance to Lott -- with a REAL leader, the Republicans can push their agenda now. Lott has been the biggest stumbling block, other than Tom Daschle.

Carville started this whole controversy by E- mailing reporters the Lott comments 2 weekends ago to his list of reporters with Sid Blumenthal. (or so the rumour has it)

Another little Carville plot that's gonna end up backfiring on the Rats. It probably looked good at first, though. But they didn't realize how unpopular Lott actually is and what a great opportunity they gave us to get rid of this spineless "leader"

Maybe Carville is being sincere. Put this issue aside and focus on the upcoming war. Political posturing has got to take a back seat to regaining our nations sense of security. Oh, Carville is sincere all right.
He sincerely and fervently wants to damage Republicans, and keeping Lott as ML fits his agenda to a T.

What's wrong with this picture?

Who the hell is Carville to forgive Trent Or is he the first bald headed Black snake as Clinton was the first Black President
They don't want Trent out just as they kept Ken Starr from returning to Pepperdine . They had Starr demonized and didn't want to have to smear a New Prosecutor
They want Trent to stay . He was easy to roll as it was and will be that much easier now and in addition they can lambast the GOP in 2004 for not getting rid of him
Carville and Begalla don't do ANYTHING that isn't to the benefit of the Dems
