[history]
Interview just aired live on CNN, CLinton says that the GOP has worked to supress black voters in Florida and therefore conservatives taking after Lott did not ring true.
And he was smiling, like Rush said Jesse Jackson was when he made similar comments faking outrage.

Clinton's remarks provide more evidence that the leftists would rather keep Lott around as a tarred and subservient punching bag than risk having him replaced with an effective conservative.
C'mon Trent. Step down as ML, and we'll pretend you acted honorably.

(if we are following this PC garbage to its logical conclusion)But in following such folly to its illogical conclusion, the Republicans are guilty of playing the Democrats' game, which we will lose every time.
The GOP, and Bush in particular, should come out and publicly embrace Lott's apology and tell everyone "It's time to get back to work." Instead, the GOP is on the defensive because they put themselves there by backstabbing one of their own.

Actually, I was being like Rush there in asking for an apology. (when he jokes on his show)
However, I believe Dubya supported Impeachment and a fair trail to see the evidence and let the jurors decide.
Which Chester and Dashole never let happen.

Well...if Lott has his way that "work" will include affirmative action and some sort of pathetic "reconciliation commission." This guy has gotta go first.

How about Censuring Robert Byrd?
It's high time Karl Rove got us on the offense here moving the ball down the field, and putting the heat on Sheets is a good start.

When in the past two weeks have the Conservatives here 'embraced' Chester as our leader?Exactly. By shunning Lott, the GOP is declaring him to be a "racist" and now want to back away from him, although THEY were the ones who elected him their leader. In this regard, the GOP is being hypocritical, not because of their programs but because of the way they have implied that Lott is a racist that was elected by them.

***STATEMENT OF REV. JESSE LEE PETERSON
REGARDING SENATOR TRENT LOTT: "DON'T
GIVE IN TO RACIST DEMOCRATS!***
"As the head of a nationally recognized nonprofit black organization BOND, the Brotherhood
Organization of A New Destiny, my organization and I accept Senator Trent Lott's apology
regarding his remarks at Senator Strom Thurmond's birthday celebration. I encourage the
Senator to not give into the demands of racists who want to keep blacks on the Democratic
plantation.
Sen. Lott has released a statement and appeared on national media to apologize for his
statements. He has explained his statement and the context in which it was made-enough is
enough!
Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Maxine Waters, and the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) are
hypocrites and they are the real racists.
Jackson has not apologized for his 'Hymie' town comments, nor for his forty years of immoral
leadership; Sharpton has never apologized for his role in the Tawana Brawley disgrace;
members of the Congressional Black Caucus have never asked fellow Democrat Sen. Robert
Byrd to step down for using the word 'nigger' twice on national television.
Black and white Democrats alike who continue to demand that he [Lott] step down are doing so
only for political reasons. And Republicans who fail to support him are displaying cowardice.
Lott should not step down; he should not offer any more apologies-this matter is done! We
should judge people based on their hearts and actions, and unlike many of his detractors, Trent
Lott has no history of being a racist."

It's high time Karl Rove got us on the offense here moving the ball down the field, and putting the heat on Sheets is a good start. You won't see that happen in a million years because Rove is a wimp and, unfortunately, he has Bush's ear, which has lead to Bush's resembling a wimp when it comes to immigration, for example.

I dont think a large percentage of FR conservatives have been calling Chester racist, a greater percentage feel that he must step down because his wishy-washy way of running the Senate is undermining the Bush Administrations Agenda.

Doing so now would only beg the question of why we did not do it earlier.
We can't win on that tack.
We need to police our own.
Let the democrat criminal class protect their own. That is just a comment on their integrity.
To: Bluntpoint
You mean why we didn't move to Censure Byrd earlier?

However, the GOP have opened a Pandora's Box by not standing with Lott. I agree that Lott should never have been chosen as SML, but now that he has been for the last six YEARS, the GOP should stay with him through this and then vote him out in about a year, after this blows over.

I agreed with you on that basic point (of PC speech police gone insane) until Lott rolled over on affirmative action in the BET interview.
This man will say anything or do anything to keep power.

I guess it doesn't matter to Sink that all the Black voter "supression" occured in the Democrat controlled districts.Try to find a picture of Clinton and Kennedy together so we can caption this.......
To sink or to swim
To: Bluntpoint
I can't remember when Jeffords switched, this may have something to do why Byrd was not censured earlier.
