Not Racism, Solipcism
Dan Poslby diagonoses Senator Trent's Lotts 'disease' [of excessive hubris] perfectly here.
'Im not about to resign for an accusation for something I'm not, Lott said at the press conference yesterday, and the Washington Post has reported on rumours that Lott would resign from the United States Senate if he stepped down-Letting the State of Mississippi's Democratic Governor name his relacement.
After all, this has always been only about Senator Trent Lott..

Trent cares so much for the party that he will let a Dim Governor appoint his successor!
Give Senator Lott his parting gifts and show him the door..please

After all, this has always been only about Senator Trent Lott.. Of course it is. He moved up the vote on Majority Leader so that the Freshmen couldn't vote. I wonder how Gramm, Coleman, Talent, Cornyn, Dole, and Alexander think about this.

And if Musgrove were to do this (which of course he would!)--the voters of the state of Mississippi would not be the teensy-bit upset and damage his re-election chances?

Thought this would be a good summary thread from last night since this is the first time that the story has got into print.
Is it true that Lott has dared his fellow Senators to throw him out, as CNBC reported on air and that the White House wants him gone but thinks Congress should do it?

Wash Posts would hope this.
Here is how it will play. He'll not be Majority leader, but stay in the Senate. Works out well. He was ineffectual to the point of incompetence.

Letting the State of Mississippi's Democratic Governor name his relacement. And this is the bottom line. What it's really all about. Letting the DemocRATS get another "IN" to become the controlling body once again.
They lay in wait, then they attack, sinking their teeth so deep into their victim, they can't be shook loose. Yep. This is what it's all about.
I don't care if a trained monkey takes Lott's place, as long as he is Republican!

And CNBC didn't report last night that the Democratic Governor would name a successor, I thought that Trent might wait unitl Haley Barbour is elected in 2003..

Just a friendly reminder. If an article has previously been posted, a new copy of it will never be appropriate for the breaking news sidebar. Don't abuse the sidebars, please.

Lott came across as a smug -s-hole.Hubris is a good diagnosis. As to solipcism, the Dems are the masters.
Anyway, Trent ulimately needs to have his seritonin levels reduced back to beta male status by demotion.

Thanks, but there is no article in print of this story in National Review.
And the thread last night was not on the sidebar either, so people just getting up might not know what is happening.

Finally, when this putz decides to play hardball, it's against his own party.

Looks like even the posters of FR are not immune to having their balls held by the liberal media and being led around to squawk like chickens over what amounts to be a non-issue. A media mountain made out of a molehill. Ah the old white man's burden game. Page 2 of the liberal media playbook.

Can we have a Lott moratorium please?
