Have you seen A.I.? It's been running on cable. It's a much better movie than I expected it to be.

So, can it vacuum and clean toilets? Change linens?

So, can it vacuum and clean toilets? Change linens? Good questions. Here are some commands I'd like to try -
Robot, take out the trash and then mow the lawn.
Robot, take the Segway to the store and pick up a carton of eggs.
Robot, bring me a beer.

Robot, pick up and dispose of the dog's droppings.

Robot, wake us both with hot fresh coffee and a hot bubble bath, let the dog out, and back in when she scratches on the door. And I want the pink embroidered robe with matching mules set out.
Can you think of the problems if you weren't really specific? Imagine if the robot poured the coffee on us, to wake us...

I think the inspiration here was just wanted to be taller than someone..

You'd probably have to be excruciatingly specific. The droppings in YOUR yard, not the whole neighborhood...dispose of in plastic lined trash receptacle by north door in mud room...etc...

Honda invented Al Gore!

Remember that Rossum's Universal Robot was the end result, and not the beginning.
Also, that it's directive, to "serve man and protect him from harm" was carried to the ultimate extreme.

Wow, I'm VERY impressed with Honda. That girl robot looks almost completely lifelike, especially next to that primitive spaceman robot.
Honda Motor Co. has developed a new model of its intelligent humanoid robot ASIMO, which can interpret the postures and gestures of humans and move independently in response. I wonder if it can recognize an Auburn one-gun salute?

Oh sorry I thought this thread was about the the remaking of Al Gore. My Apologies.

Damn...from lawn mowers to cars to humanoid robots...Honda does it all!
