The United States has agreed to release a North Korean ship that carried Scud-type missiles destined to Yemen, a senior U.S. administration official said Wednesday. Yemen had protested the high-seas seizure by Spanish and U.S. forces and demanded the release of the cargo, which it said was intended for the countrys military.
EARLIER ON WEDNESDAY, Jim Miklaszweski reported U.S. military officials were frustrated at Yemen, which is ostensibly an ally in the U.S. war on terrorism. They said Yemen had previously denied ownership of the cargo, but now that the government has claimed the arsenal, the United States has no choice under international law but to release the weapons.

Actually, at some point years ago there were clashes between Saudi and one of the Yemens, the one allied with the Soviet Union.

That would be priceless! They won't be able to argue about the fact that they are duds unless they try to use them. Can you see the argument now, they go to the North Koreans asking why they didn't work??? You "get" what you pay for.

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE.I agree.

On the bright side I assume we took the mysterious warheads off. Even if they were just regular warheads.
There was some material they were trying to 'stabilise'.

Well the ships N Korean captain said originally he was carrying "cement". Now that we know it was explosive "cement" I sure hope he doesn't drop a bag before he gets to his destination :o)............KaBoomage !
Would be real nice if the EOD teams that boarded and inspected the cargo (military.com) had left a suprise for the lying bunch of terrorist's......tick .....tick....tick.....
Stay Safe !

Sounds like the "Stabilization of these scuds went a little faster that expected.

Unless we disabled them first...

Luckily, there's a lot of time left on the clock.

Good - it's the hieght of arrogance to confiscate another's property and destroy it. It's that kind of crap that pi$$es people off, and we have the temerity to wonder why the world doesn't like us.

It will be fun watching the Bushbots put a silk hat on this pig!

Well, you know we can't have any of our Arab friends and neighbors mad at us. It's okay if they kill us but we just cannot STAND for them to be upset with us. Those missles were not for Yemen and everybody knows it. We cave once more.
To: Smogger
Just add water. They will find their missles at the bottom of the ocean packed in cement just like the wanted them to be.
To: nocommies
That's what I'm wondering. I can't imagine an innocent military reason for Yemen wanting to have Scuds.
To: Grampa Dave; Poohbah; Dog
Why am I inclined to think there's gonna be a Scud-sized "work accident" resulting in several "own goals" when somebody tries to USE these Scuds? It's gonna be either THAT or "Delta Force is coming to town..."

Perhaps they need the missiles to "defend" themselves against that base we planning off the coast of Yemen.
Ari now on C-SPAN going into contortions trying to explain the release of the ship..............
Oh well. At the very least we have sent a message: "We are watching you".
