I'd love to see a picture of this guys house with all the mail that must have been delivered to it and to have been there to see his reaction. Can you imagine what it looked like when it started pouring in. Love it.

I don't know who invented pop ups but if you go to Drudge, you'll be invested with them for 2 or 3 minutes after you exit his page.

There shouldn't be a postal rate hike for quite awhile.

Not his fault. It's Microsoft's fault for not fixing IE so popups weren't possible.

I was looking for another choice:

No it's not fair until he gets exactly the same number of messages as he's sent out.

Over 600,000 an hour for how many years??

It's funny you should mention that. I used to open my evening web surfing with Drudge, then went to FR, then on and on. A few months ago when Drudge started the pop ups, I couldn't get rid of them so I dropped Drudge altogether and come to FR first, then on and on.

all spam mail that he sends out should be forced back upon his servers until they choke to death ... but I mean that in a nice way ... 8)

No it's not fair until he gets exactly the same seven times the number of messages as he's sent out. every day ... of every week ... for every year ... (as you can see, I hate email spammers ... hehe)

Large corporations are now using spam.

You guys are dinosaurs, and the geek/leftist idea "The internet is my personal playground." is just about dead and buried.

With that said... Go Alan!!!

You can stop all popups by adding a simple parameter to your Netcape 7.0 prefs.js file.

The poll question is based on an unproven assumption; there is no proof that "anti-spam groups" were responsible for doing this. Ralsky's actions in continually spamming Internet users and stealing bandwidth from service providers without their consent left him statistically open to that tiny segment of any large group of people who incorrectly fight abuse with abuse. And, as an "anti-spammer" myself, I can confirm that I did not and would not engage in this sort of stupid horseplay.

Now having said that, I'm not really sure it is abuse to have magazine subscriptions, etc. sent to Ralsky's house. After all, the people who publish the magazines offer a legal, publically-accessible method of sending offers and subscriptions to people. Ralsky will pay nothing to dispose of the unsolicited material he receives, while bandwidth providers and Internet users have to pay plenty to deal with the spam he spews on a daily basis.

And, all Ralsky has to do to stop the flood of material is to contact the DMA (Direct Marketing Association) and place his address on their "do not mail" list. Seems fair to me, as he asks the recipients of his crap to do exactly the same thing.

I won't post it here, but did you see his address and the suggestion you send him a Christmas card? (It doesn't have to be a nice one).

You can get pop up stoppers in different locations on the net.

This link here will show you a site that has a free one that works ok. They have others which presumably are better but those are not free.

The free one has been working pretty well for me for some months now.

It is time for a campaign just like the cig campaign to attach such a stigma to it that the big companies won't do it. Until that happens, the problem will get worse.

It is already 34% of all internet email traffic. At what point do you stop cheering Alan? (Btw, your brave)

Luckily, that won't work.

They're smarter than that. They'll use shell companies, if necessary, to protect their main corporation from your boycotts :)

As long as a medium of advertising works, it will be used. And you won't be able to stop spam from working, as people will buy things that they want.

Just delete it, if you don't want it. Stop trying to control everything.

I always wonder about folks who take the effort to answer a one question poll:

"I don't know" "I don't have an opinion" etc. Duh

yea, great idea. Your real smart. How about you stay by my mailbox while I take a two day road trip and make sure my mail box does not hit is limit. filled up with junk email.

No one is trying to control anything, except to stop these %#% &%$ #%@#$ ##&@$^* &%$&$%#@ ##%$ people from clogging up MY email. It's to the point my mailbox is useless. Don't be a jerk.
