I'm Sad for Our Nation [Truly]

Edited on 12/05/2002 8:12:31 AM PST by Admin Moderator. [history]

Tuesday, November 19, was truly [1] a black, black day for this nation and one I never dreamed would happen here.

I remember vividly as a child watching Nikita Khrushchev standing at the UN beating his shoe against the podium and shouting that they (the then Soviet Union) would take us over without firing a shot. Little did we know or ever dream then that the Soviet Union would fall but that a truly [2] evil man from Texas and his equally evil regime from Cheney on down would take us over from within and that the Democrats would completely collapse before our eyes and help him do it. This truly [3] began with the stolen election of 2000.

I truly [4] wouldn't blame the French if they came and took back that gift they gave us a century ago, the Statue of Liberty. It's truly [5] meaningless now and only stands as a very sad reminder of what we once were.

Every American who cares deeply for this nation and what we once stood for should be sad. Those traitor Democrats in the House and Senate should think about what they have helped to destroy in two short years.

While you are whining, the rest of America will do what is necessary.

Excellant post. You have refuted his rant with logical eruditious thought. I wish Calif. residents would wake up and smell the coffee. The rats continue to buy votes with their socialist policies.

When you become enlightened, you will understand that the world became a more dangerous place BECAUSE of Bill Clinton and cronies.

9/11 happened, because NOTHING happened during the 8 years he was President.

He ruined an improving economy (look at what he inherited), and left President Bush with a declining economy, and a lack of any security measures left intact to protect us.

YOU are damn proud of that?

Tell that to the victims of Oklahoma, New York, The USS Cole, .. remember Black Hawk Down? Mogodeshu? (sp) There is a very long list... to include having the first President to raise his hand and lie under oath!! Then we have another Jimmy Carter who just doesn't get the importance of an ex-president stepping aside, and how important it is for the security of our nation to stand united, to ONLY have ONE President. Name ONE Republican President who left office and spoke out publicly in any way against the current administration,... name ONE!! You won't be able to, because they understand how unstable that can make America in the Worlds eyes.

How about what is going on in Africa?

How about osama bin Laden? al Queda? Are you even aware of what has been going on in Malaysia since the early 90's? Or Africa, the Phillipines? Do you honestly think the world is a safer place thanks to the Clinton era?

How about the Torrecelli Ammendment that destroyed our agents ability to get down and dirty with the very people who were/ARE out to destroy us?

Some of us are smart enough to realize that the Party of Lincoln was the party that set slaves free,.. who fought for the womens right to vote.

My hope for you.. is that you are open minded enough to let the truth in,...and stop living in the confined spaces of gray matter that you appear to be trapped in.

A closed mind is as dangerous as a parachute that won't open.

THINK about it!!

GOD BLESS YOU!!!! AND "GOD BLESS AMERICA!!"

We give thanks EVERY day that this administration came to be when it did. We shudder to think the "what if's" of a Gore Presidency. We have SEEN what a Democratic Majority in the Senate did for us.. can you spell N-O-T-H-I-N-G?

We are EXTREMELY blessed to have President Bush, VP Cheney, Sec of Def Rumsfield, Sec of State Colin Powell, Dr. Rice and a host of others running this nation at this time. Someday the world WILL be a better, safer place for having had them.

You need to study up some on the Wahabbi Islamist.. understand the TRUE threat they are to Jews and Christians (per their own indoctrinations/books that they teach to their kids) and realize the threat that is to anyone who ISN'T a Wahabbi Islamist!!

FRegards,.. and welcome to FR. If you really want to, you will learn a lot here.

It was this morning, which as I understand it makes it yesterday in France. No matter, if you are French you can surrender more than once a day. In fact, I think if you surrender to two people at exactly the same time its called a monage on tois or something like that

France was a long despotism tempered by epigrams.
Carlyle, Thomas (1795 - 1881) Scottish historian and essayist. History of the French Revolution, Pt. I, Bk. I, Ch. 1, 1837

They are short, blue-vested people who carry their own onions when cycling abroad, and have a yard which is 3.37 inches longer than other people's.
Coren, Alan (1938) British humorist and writer. The Sanity Inspector, `All You Need to Know about Europe', 1974

There's always something fishy about the French.
Coward, Noël (1899 - 1973) British dramatist. Conversation Piece, I:6, 1934

Bouillabaisse is only good because cooked by the French, who, if they cared to try, could produce an excellent and nutritious substitute out of cigar stumps and empty matchboxes.
Douglas, Norman (1868 - 1952) British novelist. Siren Land, `Rain on the Hills', 1911

The French will only be united under the threat of danger. Nobody can simply bring together a country that has 265 kinds of cheese.
Gaulle, Charles De (1890 - 1970) French general and statesman. Speech, 1951, 1951

I hate the French because they are all slaves, and wear wooden shoes.
Goldsmith, Oliver (1728 - 1774) Irish-born British writer. Essays, `Distresses of a Common Soldier'

The best thing I know between France and England is - the sea.
Jerrold, Douglas William (1803 - 1857) British dramatist. Wit and Opinions of Douglas Jerrold, `The Anglo-French Alliance', 1859

A Frenchman must be always talking, whether he knows anything of the matter or not; an Englishman is content to say nothing, when he has nothing to say.
Johnson, Samuel (1709 - 1784) British lexicographer. Life of Johnson (J. Boswell), Vol. IV, 1780

Allons, enfants, de la patrie,
Le jour de gloire est arrivé.
Come, children of our native land,
The day of glory has arrived.
Lisle, Rouget de (Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle) (1760 - 1836) French military engineer and composer. La Marseillaise (French national anthem), 1792

Yet, who can help loving the land that has taught us
Six hundred and eighty-five ways to dress eggs?
Moore, Thomas (1779 - 1852) Irish poet. The Fudge Family in Paris, 1818

There's something Vichy about the French. <--My favorite
Novello, Ivor (David Ivor Davies) (1893 - 1951) British actor, composer, and dramatist. Ambrosia and Small Beer (Edward Marsh), Ch. 4

A mademoiselle from Armenteers,
She hasn't been kissed for forty years,
Hinky, dinky, par-lee-voo.
Rowland, Edward (20th century)
British songwriter. Armentières was completely destroyed (1918) in World War I. Mademoiselle from Armentières (song)

I do not dislike the French from the vulgar antipathy between neighbouring nations, but for their insolent and unfounded airs of superiority.
Walpole, Horace (1717 - 1797)
British writer. Letter to Hannah More, 14 Oct 1787, 1787

France is a country where the money falls apart in your hands and you can't tear the toilet paper.
Wilder, Billy (Samuel Wilder) (1906)
Austrian-born US film director. Attrib

There are two implications in your comment that need to be examined - 1) that he has a partner; 2) that he has a penis. Somehow, I doubt both of those are true.

I'm with you totally!! The reprecussions of that time in our nations history could be felt "even more" if there is ever an oil embargo, or God forbid, war.

We built it, paid for it,..and yes, gave lives to build it.

I believe the Chinese now run it. Amazing,..and amazingly sad.

Isn't it great to live in a country where you can say what you think and broadcast it on the web without repudiation?

Except here at FR, where he was immediately banned.

I disagree with you, but I defend to the death your right to say it

JR wouldn't. He would just ban you both.
