And how would they know? Phil and Fred have been mainting the Ted Maher thread for a very long time, over a year, I believe. This thread is so long and old, I simply cannot remember without going back and re-reading everything.....but you can ask them; they regularly post here (perhaps today they're working).

NOTHING prevented him from stating in front of about a zillion witnesses of the press that the confession was coerced.

He did it, he confessed to doing it, and he confirmed it in sworn testimony in open court.

Now, due to crowding, he gets to play wife to Pierre in some gross French jail.

It is a suitable punishment, the boy was a loser with a record, IIRC.

His wife or sister FReeped me on a thread on FR.....telling me he did not light this fire....even though an admission to the contrary was forced out of him. She told me this just a week or so ago (again). I have read other documents and letters, months ago, stating the same thing. Because the thread is very old, I cannot point to any specific post: it's thousands long. But the thread is there for your perusal, with links weaved in and around it.

wait, wait, wait: are you suggesting the procedure when obtaining a confession is to send a court reporter in with no voice recording device? Have you not been to a deposition in last 15 years?
IIRC, Freepers were applauding the cleverness of the folks who got American Taliban John Walker Lindh to confess but didn't tape-record his confession. Something about that giving the prosecution the ability to put the witness to the confession on the stand for testimony, while the defense had no recording they could seek to suppress as evidence.

Oh, just answer the damn question . . . why is there no recording of the confession, more importantly, a video confession? We've had them in the states for over 20 years, the police in MCO were trained in Quantico, I'm pretty sure they know about taping while getting a confession. All of you MCO apologists will create the most complex path explain away the most obvious flags.

Of course; that's why I'm referring back to the thread....there's lots of information posted there, i.e., links to articles, etc., that bring up legitimate questions about other people's motives and why those people were not ever investigated....(i.e., the wife of Safra, married three times, all husband died and she was the beneficiary, three times, now living in the high-faluten elite British lifestyle, the poor widow, /sarcasm). There are suspcious things going on that have not been investigated, nor brought up during the trial, i.e., why were the body guards not at the house that night? They were otherwise ALWAYS present, but not that night. A bit odd. There's other things too, but that's just off the top of my head.

You must not visit here very often or forgot about this major FR topic of late......

I visit FR at least twice every single day, and have for more than 2 years, and I've never seen the name before. There may have been some long threads, but it's apparently very easy to visit frequently and still miss them...
