The world press seems to be failing miserably while our "cowboy" President soars.

Take a good look at this picture taken Saturday in Romania. That is a crowd of some 50,000 people who waited for hours in a cold rain to see President Bush in person and to hear what he had to say. The world wide press may not understand him but the people sure do.

Still, before Bush's first trip to Europe for NATO and European Union meetings in June 2001, editorial writers predicted he would be humiliated by leaders angered by his rejection of a treaty curbing greenhouse gases and his plan to develop a missile shield, which they feared could spark an arms race

And if I recall of the first meeting .. EVERYONE was suprised and walked away having high regards for President Bush

The President had a great trip overseas. Eastern Europeans love him. IMHO, Eastern Europe is what will bring Europe back and it will be, in part, due to their embrace of the USA and the West. Sadly, Western Europe - notably Germany and France - seem much more content when they can just bash the USA.

The article has many positives in it but it always amazes me how they have to interject the negatives. W is a collasus on the world stage and looks like even the press may be figuring that out. Took him waaayyy to long in my opinion.

GO W!

"W is a collasus on the world stage and looks like even the press may be figuring that out. "

Yes, a few of them are beginning to get it much like when they finally came around to accepting and appreciating President Reagan.

Isn't that Romanian crowd just amazing??? No need to angle the shot to make it LOOK like a huge crowd, as was done four and five years ago.

He is so subtle, so skillful, and above all, so effective. Thank God he is your president and mine.

Thanks for pointing me to this article, Darlin'.

This is not very good news, I like it better when the world thought our President was a dimwit. Like playing chess, it's much easier to win, when your opponents think you are stupid, they don't make their best moves. Now President GWB will have to work a lot harder to maintain his edge over his adversaries. But then W has a lot of energy, and have an excellent team behind him, so maybe I woun't have to worry too much.

But this writer has to interject.... Yes, but please have some compassion on the liberal media. They are hurting beyond what they can stand, when W wins big time!

...very early in the campaign. Yes, but for me, I began to realize GWB's strength(Humbleness, very deep reserve in spirit, and faith in the Almighty)by his behaviour during the endless squabbles in the Florida election. While gore was constantly having press conferences complaining to the media how he is being cheated during the recount, W was silent and above the brawl. The "TEXAS Cowboy" has CLASS!

Thanks for the ping, Darlin'! The liberal media just cannot write a straight positive article about President Bush. It is truly sickening that they always have to put their own thoughts into their writings. I send tons of emails to these journalists but I can't make a difference all by myself. I wish every freeper would take a few minutes every night and send emails to the worst of the worst. Often, their email addresses can be found on the newspaper web site. Together, we could make a difference.

I, too, send lots of email to journalist, liberal and conservative. Surprisingly enough I've gotten some very nice replies from some of the ones who make me want to scream. LOL.

No, no need to mess with that shot, it speaks for itself.

Thanks Darlin'!

I seem to remember reading an article some time back about Ronald Reagan and how world leaders were "less than impressed" with him when he was first elected. Later in his presidency, at a summit, (I believe it was in Canada), world leaders were also clamoring for his attention and kept asking him how he had done "it".

I'm not sure exactly why, but this article reminded me of that a lot.

Thanks again, great article!
