You and all your family will be in our thoughts and prayers on Sunday. May you know the joy and peace that only the assurances of God can bring even as you grieve for your dear father.

My prayers for you and your family at this time. May our Lord lift you up in his arms and hold you and comfort you as you need him.

Just got on and extend my sympathy to OhioWfan! I lost my Mom 3 years ago after a 7 year battle with Parkinsons! Just remember that God sends his Holy Spirit to comfort us! I pray for his presence as you go through this journey. P.S. My Dad is 86.

Dear Lord, please comfort those who grieve. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

God keep you, too! I'll be praying.

You and your loved one's are in my prayers. Your father was a great inspiration to not only his immediate family but to all in general. May the Lord reward him with eternal joy in His kingdom. May the Peace of the Lord be with you and your family

Your tribute to your Dad was beautiful. :-)

"If you will indulge me, let me tell you a little bit about my Dad..... " Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your dad....he is inspiring to read about, and he did a fine job as a parent judging for how you recognize his wonderful contributions and example to you and others.

ohioWfan, I am very sorry for your loss. God bless you.

Sorry to hear about your loss. God bless you, and I miss seeing your replies over on the day in the life thread. Know that you are in my prayers, and I hope things start looking brighter for you soon. John 14:6 Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes throught the Father except through me."

Thank you all, once again for continued prayers.
We had a wonderful time of celebration for my Dad's life yesterday and reunion with family members and friends not seen for a very long time. Our older son, Josh, who shares many of the same characteristics as his grandfather, gave a tribute, saying that the last thing Grandpa told him when he left for college this summer was "Carry the torch," and Josh vowed that they would do their best to carry on his spiritual legacy.
We sang 'Happy Birthday' to him at the reception the church gave us after the service, and someone also commented that they thought they heard a shout from heaven Saturday after Ohio State beat Michigan....
I am deeply sorrowful, but rejoicing that Dad is out of pain and rejoicing in the arms of His Savior. Thanks again for your encouragement, support, and prayers. You don't know what this has meant to me.

You remain in our prayers. Your father is in His Hands.

Thanks, John.

I can only smile. "What a friend we have in Jesus." We can "sing Happy Birthday" at a funeral! : ) May God continue to bring you all joy and comfort, ohio. : )
To: ohioWfan
I am glad our prayers brought you some comfort. In the weeks ahead you will have times when you achingly miss your father, and other times you will know he isn't far away.
God is always close. I know you will lean on him. Prayers continue.

and someone also commented that they thought they heard a shout from heaven Saturday after Ohio State beat Michigan.... ummm....that was God shouting "Go 'Canes!" (just kidding)
Glad to hear it was a good service, hope you and the family are doing well.
