Three men have been charged over an alleged plot to release cyanide gas on the London Underground tube network.
The men are north African muslims said to belong to a group linked to al Qaeda.
The alleged plot was foiled after the group was infiltrated by MI5 agents in a six month operation.
The men are thought to be of either Tunisian or Moroccan background and belong to a group called the North African Front, said to have loose connections with Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network.
One of the men is aged 21, the second 33. The third is in his mid 30s.
They appeared at Bow Street Magistrates' Court earlier this week and were remanded in custody.
Details of the hearing were not released by Scotland Yard at the time and have only just emerged.
The three men will re-appear in court on Monday.

How about a factory pig farm instead for number 3?

Three men have been charged over an alleged plot to release cyanide gas on the London Underground tube network. The men are north African muslims said to belong to a group linked to al Qaeda. But if one says that ol' 'hammed's cult is terrorism codified, the mo-slimes get to scream "hate crime"!
Madness. When will we wake up and do what needs to be done?

Just for the record, the whingeing, weak-kneed, appeasing Guardian says there are 1.8 million Muslims in the UK in total. That is out of a population of 60 million.
That's 1.8 million too many ; they've GOT to go !

Our idiotic cable news TV channels are presently busy occupying themselves with the newest great guessing game: what constitutes a "material breach." I just love such sharp, insightful questions as, "What do you feel the Iraqis are thinking." To which whatever nitwit "expert" is being subjected to such punishing interrogation [/sarcasm] never thinks of saying, "How the hell do I know. I'm not a mind reader."

"Wonder when the 'Islam...the future for America' signs will start popping up here? It won't be long."
I don't think so. There is one big differnce between us and the Brits--we still have guns.
The muslims think they're bad and tough, but they have yet to deal with a really pissed off white Christian populace. If they continue to stay on their current path, sometime down the road they will be in for a rude and deadly awakening, both here and abroad.

I'll be happy to gut a few of these ignorant animals. It's like dealing with a pack of rabid dogs. You don't reason with them. You don't try to understand them. You just kill them.

"This is the first I have heard of agents infiltrating an al Qaeda cell. Wonder how they got on the inside?" The explanation is that MI-5 doesn't have to worry about the likes of Frank Church, Robert Torricelli or Janet Reno crimping their style.

If we knew how to take out bin Laden, would we or would we just follow him and bug his communications ? If the rats in congress knew Bush was doing this would they gang up on him anyways and act like they didn't know ?

When I heard about this, my first thoughts were of you and your family. My thanks for your concern. But don't worry, apart from my blood pressure being up a few points, I'm fine. ;)

Don't hold your breath about waking up the squishy Leftist apologists. They are modern-day Quislings. They hate Western civilization as much as the radical Islamists do. They simply can't get it through their stupid heads that they will be among the first to die if the killers win. The rest of us will be out in the back country defending ourselves and our own, and keeping the flame of liberty burning.

The SAS is going to cut out your hearts and shove them down your ignorant throatsTell us how you really feel. Its ok your among friends.

Tell us how you really feel. Its ok your among friends. That was actually the polite version. I'd hesitate to say what I actually thought in front of the fine ladies of Free Republic.

This rates a 9.5 on my butt pucker meter regarding riding the NYC Subway. This is just one of the reasons I ride my bike to work these days.
This stinks and I HOPE this is not related to the new Al Qaeda statement CNN is reporting tonight regarding attacks in Washington DC and NY.
To: Diddle E. Squat; guitfiddlist
The govt successfully infiltrates and stops a terrorist plot, and all you can do is bitch and moan? I took guitfiddlist's comment to be a reasonable snipe at the nonsensical PC stance that many US Gov't agencies -- particularly Mineta's Transportation Agency -- have taken in the war against terrorism. To be sure, both the US and UK governments seem to be fighting a good fight behind the scenes (as GW said he would). But I think many share the same concern regarding the PC approach to dealing with potential terrorists that in our midst, which has led to policies like the random searches at airports that could not stand up to even the most basic logical review.
To: MadIvan
And we have to make enough examples suffer enough pain so that that the very mention of "America" and "Britain" will make potential terrorists tremble in their beds. Exactly. We have to hunt down and do things to terrorists and their supporters, so that nobody, Muslim or not will EVER want to be connected to, associated with, related to, or seen with anyone have anything to do with Al Qaeda.

Life is pretty tense all over. Tonight, about 20 minutes ago, I heard what sounded like an entire squadron of jets take off (I live about 75 miles from a Naval Air Station in Florida). Then a couple of minutes later, I heard even more of them take off.
This is not normal for my area, so obviously, something is going on. Probably, it will turn out to be a false alarm. But better safe than sorry.
Still, it's miserable to have to live this way, and think that our children too will probably have to live this way. The devouring wolf of Islam is at our door, and it's going to be there for awhile, unless we totally destroy it.
BTW, Ivan, I'm Catholic, and not a fan of Henry VIII. He was given several chances to arrange his marital affairs, and just because he was nearly sterile (like most European monarchs of the time, probably with a minus sperm count), he didn't have to drive Catholics out of the country and behead Thomas More. But that's a whole 'nother thing...in any case, Catholics are NOT to be equated with Muslims, even in England, thank you. The Church kept Islam at bay for many centuries before Henry came along.

I know. I live in New York. I knew three people who were killed. I was making a point when I referred to the 3,000 as "collateral damage."
