Report Say's Man Dead For Days, Comes Back To Life
Bush Country "Heads Up" Email Newsletter | 11/12/2002 | Bush Country Staff

Posted on 11/12/2002 6:26:42 AM PST by Sen Jack S. Fogbound

Please Note: The Bush Country staff discussed at great lengths about including our first article in our newsletter.  We want to be up front in saying we are in no way posting it because we believe the article to be true. On the contrary, we believe it pretty far fetched.  On the flip site however the events in the story by all accounts, seems to be the truth.  Several legitimate websites have the story on their websites, including CBN.  The question seems to be whether the individual was actually dead.

If anything, we thought the question  "Did Mr. Ekechukwu actually Die"? would bring up some very interesting discussions on both sides of the issue.  Send it to your email list and see what they think.  Print it off and discuss around the water cooler at work.  Is it a bunch of garbage, or true?  Only God knows for sure. Either way, it makes for some good conversation and that is exactly why Bush Country decided to include it in this weeks newsletter.

1. Report Say's Man Dead For Days, Comes Back To Life
The dramatic documentary of a modern-day "Lazarus" has been released by international evangelist Reinhard Bonnke. The German preacher who has led evanagelistic rallies in Africa for 30 years says that the remarkable resurrection of Daniel Ekechukwu is so well-documented that no one can be unaffected by the report.

Bonnke's Christ for All Nations ministry has released a 45-minute video of Ekechukwu's testimony, and also reported at its Web site how the Nigerian pastor had been certified dead and injected with embalming fluids before reviving three days later at a Bonnke meeting.

Ekechukwu's wife was so sure that God would bring her husband back to life after he was fatally injured in an auto accident that she persuaded the local mortuary to allow her to take his body to the church where Bonnke was preaching. There pastors lifted stiff Ekechukwu from the coffin in which he had been laid, and were amazed when the man started to breathe again as they prayed for him.

The video includes footage of Ekechukwu beginning to stir, and later returning to the mortuary where his body had been laid out. The "Raised from the Dead" report features interviews with one of the doctors who certified Ekechukwu dead, and the mortician. "It's shocking," one of them tells the video team. "Seeing a dead man, someone that was once dead and is now alive...it is very shocking.

To God all glory should go." Nneka Ekechukwu says that when her husband was pronounced dead after last November's accident, she remembered promises God had given her that she would not suffer any more misfortune. "I said: 'This can't happen. I must do something, to prove God again.'" On the third day after the accident, Ekechukwu's body was taken in its coffin to a church in Ontisha, where Bonnke was preaching at a service.

The body was taken out of its coffin and put on a table in the church's conference center, where several pastors began to pray. Senior pastor Pat Nwachkuw Sr. explained that when members of the church learned about Ekechwuku's resurrection, a woman who had been on crutches threw them away and started running, and her husband ran to the church altar to ask God to forgive him his sins.

Ekechukwu says when he was being taken to the hospital in the ambulance, he was visited by two angels and taken to heaven. There he saw a "multitude" of people dressed in white who were singing and praising God. The angel told him that he had "another chance" to go back to warn those still alive had been "granted to this generation." Ekechukwu said that he had been told he could return to the living to give "a last warning to this generation."

Never seen or heard about this. Guys, heard anything? In the past I would tend to be skeptical but God's power is infinite and I'm not going to doubt that

I have heard of folks with heartbeats and vital signs that are undetectable. Maybe this is one of those you don't try to analyze, you just go with it and be thankful to have your loved one back!

On the one hand, if someone is actually embalmed, for them to get up and walk later would require a miracle.

On the other hand, this story comes from Nigeria, land of the scam.

Blessed are they that do not see and yet believe.

The real suckers are those that see and still do not believe.

Many reliable and credible witnesses in Jesus' day (Including Roman officers) witnessed his miracles..and were converted.

Lazarus was not just in a coma...according to the bible (and his sister's testimony) ...his corpse was rotten enough to stink...

And the Lord spoke Lazarus back to life...healthy life..(as many reliable witnesses testifyied)

The bible also teaches that the followers of Jesus would do these very same kinds of miracles..

Cant say that this is the case..but it would certainly line up with what scripture says will happen...

What better place for the Lord of Light to manifest himself for all to see - but in the darkest places of the earth -...hope where there is no hope-...life where death abounds-...truth where falsehood dominates-..and mercy in the land of cruelty

Hello! I am in your debtness for receiving this plaintiff missive. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Nairobi Anchewaka, the First Liberian Consul to the government of Liberia.

I am currently in possession of 250 million dollars in gold and bearer bonds, but unfortunately my government has restricted all banking negotiations making it impossible for me to move my finances out of Liberia to a safe country.

I am seeking as many blithering American idiots as I can dupe into sending me their names, credit card numbers and and social security numbers so that I may steal their life savings and laugh all the way to my Bahamian hideaway.

Please reply with your telephone and fax information so that I can run up millions of dollars in long distance debt that I will charge to you.

Also, since I have been recently resurrected from the dead, please send all the cash you have immediately available so that I can blow it on hookers and drugs.

Your's from Africa, Land of the Living Dead, Nai'

Same here in the States.

The PT Barnum theory continues to be proven time and time again. Today on the news was the story of the gal in New York who tryed to live the NY lifestyle waaaaay beyond her means and got into huge credit card debt buying $500 handbags and such. So she puts up a website documenting her irresponsible behavior and asks for peoples sympathies, in the form of cash, and guess what, thus far the website has garnered $14000 from donors(idiots). There is a sucker born every minute!

BTW....is there a quick-learn site available on how to build your own website? Thanks.

"Yea verily, I saw a multitude of souls, many of whom had millions in spare and untraceable change left over from Nigerian Government oil deals. I say unto you I shall require the number of your checking account, whereupon and inwhichupon I shall place these untraceable funds for a few weeks. Then I shall require you in good faith to write me a cheque for ...o ...say 85% of the amount I placed in your accounts. O yeah and verily, your Amex number would be handy so that I may buy Travellers Cheques for that deposit with these untraceable funds. Amen. Alleluia"

A passage from the Apochrypha of Slezipetrodolla of Lagos and Las Vegas, Nigerian Holy Man.

I ran into Slezi and 4 other Nigerian Holy Men on a freeeway outside of Tampa last year. They stopped short to offer me the opportunity to add an insurance settlement to their church coffers. Call it a missed opportunity to bump into true holiness.

Gee, I thought this was going to about "new" democrat candidates for the 2004 election.

Seriously though, I read a book some years ago that told several stories like this which occurred in the Phillipines. While I agree that it is pretty incredible, we have to believe that if Jesus raised Lazarus and others from the dead and God raised Jesus from the dead, then His power can work through His people to raise the dead. He said to His disciples that "greater works than these shall you do because I go to my Father."

Yeah, 4CJ and I talked about this a year ago. This man was supposed to speak nearby, but had visa problems and couldn't make it.

The doctor who pronounced him dead speaks on the video, remarking, "I'm starting to believe in God [chuckle]." He was crudely embalmed and kept in shanty morgue with no air, with the undertaker declaring the man was dead.

He also went to hell and saw the torment and the agony of the damned, besides seeing the splendor of Heaven. Heaven is real, and this gentleman's story sounds legit here.

Yeah, seems like every couple weeks or so, I get an email offering me 15 million U.S. dollars if I will be of help to someone from that country.

Whoever is sending out those emails obviously take the words of P.T. Barnum to heart.
