"Our fellow veterans have served just wars as well as unjust wars, but our freedoms and liberties are still vital to this nation!"
Today, I salute my son, Specialist 4, Joseph LeRoy Mitchell, who is waiting for his unit to be called for training for Iraq, and he will be leaving behind his two year old son being he is the only parent and the mother ran off to engage in her own lusts and not caring about her son!
For the first time I feel real fear for my family, for if the battle is engaged with Saddam Husein, the real possibility my son may lose his life and therefore, I know I must hold my head up high, for my son will have protected this nation freedoms and liberties, and with that I will be proud! Thank you for posting all of this in tribute to the men and women who have served our great Nation and those who serve today.
My oldest daughter is stationed with the VS-41 Shamrock squadron on North Island, Coronado, San Diego, CA, and for the second year in a row Veterans Day cuts a little deeper than it did before. My Dad served in WWII in the Army, His Father (My Grandfather) died from Mustard Gas in WWI, My Daughter's Dad and three Uncles were Marines, and our Family has been around the Air Force for years but having your child in the military puts a whole new meaning in the honoring the men and women of the military.
God Bless every man or woman who has served this great Country in times of War or Peace because all of them have protected the freedoms of those of us who have never served in military uniform!
Thanks to all the veterans from our family!

The following photo is dedicated to my daughter, her fiance and the other men and women who proudly serve in VS-41! She was aboard the USS Nimitz with the VS-41 Shamrock Squadron during Carrier Qualifications in June 2002 when this photo was taken --

Thanks for the great photo tribute. A small gesture such as this speaks volumes to those of us who have worn and still wear the uniform.

Thank You Sir. This day holds a special meaning to my family as my father, who served in WWII in the Army and during the Korean War in the Navy, along with my 5 brothers and myself have a combined service to our country of nearly 100 years. Thanks to all Veterns for their service to this great country.
