Welcome back to LATE EDITION. Joining us now from Albany, New York, the former U.N. weapons inspector, Scott Ritter.
Scott, thanks for coming on the program. What's your assessment? What's going to happen?
SCOTT RITTER, FORMER U.N. WEAPONS INSPECTOR: Well, I have no doubt that weapons inspectors will return on the 18th with Hans Blix at the lead, and they will initiate their technical work to get prepared to do more in-depth inspections.

RITTER: Well, I mean, first of all, what weapons of mass destruction capabilities? What if Iraq submits a negative finding? You know, the United States and Great Britain are both on record as saying Iraq has this capability. So if Iraq submits a negative finding, do the United States and Great Britain at that point in time find Iraq to be in a material breach because their declaration omits the kind of information that the United States and Great Britain says exists in Iraq? We probably have some intelligence info waiting in the wings for an Iraqi lie. But evidence, no matter how strong, never means anything to a well-bribed scumbag like Ritter. To Ritter and Islamofascist pals, any evidence produced that proves them wrong is "fabricated, all a big staged lie". I'll bet this dumbass believes the arab press that says Sept. 11th was planned and executed by the CIA as an excuse to go to war against Islam.

For the first time I'm with Ritter on this point. Weapons inspections are pointless but we have to go through with it before we invade. Hopefully they won't drag out for months as we need to get in there by Jan/Feb to avoid the summer heat.

Exactly. Ritter faults the evidence for existing.
He feels it's unfair to point out the obvious and thinks it's just a big conspiracy to make his buddy look bad.

The inspections are pointless, but that's because of who were dealing with, not because of America. At least we're giving him one last chance to submit, just like we gave the Taliban.
Truth is, he's already violated the ceasefire thousands of times, and he doesn't even deserve a last chance for him to simply send out his propaganda team headed up by Scott Ritter instead of surrendering his weapons

I really hope that somebody in the government is looking into just where Ritter is getting his money for spewing this crap, rumored to be over $450,000. It's probably from some American pro-islam foundation that's getting laundered money from Iraq and al-Qaeda. When Ritter is sitting in prison, he'll still be crying about how his islam blood-money sources were fabricated.
Gee Scott, what's with the "too short a time" bit? Saddam's only been given a decade and 17 tries to disarm.
He's lucky to get another day.

I never have been sure just why having a "covert agent" in the inspection party is such a horrible thing - every one of these people is, and is supposed to be, an overt agent of all foreign countries. That's the point of an international arms inspection party, after all, isn't it? So if one of them is from the CIA, KGB, MI6, Young Pioneers, or the Girl Scouts, so what?
To: spycatcher
What Ritter thinks doesn't matter. Saddam either has WMD that threaten the world or he doesn't. He claims he doesn't and he has to prove it and we claim he does and we have to prove it. Let the facts speak.

All I can say is I hope they do a hell of a better job of picking the weapons inspectors this time.
To: spycatcher
When Saddam is toast, Scott Ritter should be branded with a scarlet "T" on his forehead and put in stocks in front of the former World Trade Center. This traitor is running amuk.

There's no mystery where Mr. Ritter's recent influsion of money came from. It came from Iraq.

RITTER: ... The window opens in mid-December, closes in early March. Well, there is one thing I can agree with Scott on...
