What's the basis for this opinion? From what I heard the regions remaining in the count are typically Republican.Elsewhere on this thread someone indicated that Indian reservations are still out as well as Daschle's county.

Simon just closed the gap on Davis in California. 46% Davis and 44% Simon. Does anyone have a sliver of hope for Simon?

What you're saying over on DU is the same thing we saw last week at the Wellstone rally. They are filled with hatred. They are consumed by a thirst for power. They are going berserk right now because they can't find a way to salvage this. There was no (major) voter fraud, no hanging chads. Unfortunately, I fear this will only provoke them into spewing more bile.

It sure is. Mondale will be the cherry on the cake. I'm hoping for it........LOL.

it's lovely. chris matthews is just now saying that we have moved past the people magazine phase of politics and are now actually looking at executives, who can get things done.

"We won the Senate, but I still want 52."
Me, too. I want a safe majority. I never want to me at the mercy of some fair weather, phoney, weak kneed, weasel like Jeffords ever again. I won't relax until we have replaced Chaffee and McCain or we have enough to make it stoooopid for them to jump.

The rest of the precincts in one of Thune's counties just reported in. His lead is back up to 3100.
I hope it is enough to hold on!

Great night for Bill and Hill? What on EARTH did she mean by that?? Probably that the Dims will be so despondent that they'll come crawling back to Bubba for his "wife" to run for office and save the country. Make no mistake about it, if Hillary gets nominated, the media will make sure that she wins.

OMG ... are you watching MSNBC ... they are trying to figure out why the GOP won ..LOL

, something is going on in our Country with these Democrat Governors. We have one. Democrats are up to no good, as usualI looked at DU for the second time ever tonight. They are really depressed. NOT really gloating about the win of the governors races... they think it is a pubbie conspiracy (LOL) since the states are so in debt, the new govs will become unpopular trying to balance their budgets.
Even when they win, they lose... lol...
(they are really, really despondent... ;-)

Yep. We need 2 of the MN, SD, and LA so as to be Chafee proof, and prevent him and McCain from acting like preening little kingmakers when it comes to conservative judicial nominees.

Thune back up to 4000+

Each of the tv news gangs were analyzing why the Democrats lost so much, like no agenda and other reasons. But, I believe the primary reason was the country watched as Daschle and Senate attacked Cheney, attacked the President, blocked everything with dirty politics, even Homeland Security. They saw the President reach out to people like Kennedy, Hillary, Daschle, etc. and see them turn on him viciously. Many Democratic voters who are not hard core changed parties and at the same time their meaness energized the Republican base. IMHO. Of course, God was in control. Maybe that is why He allowed the Senate to go to Dems so their evil ways were daily on display.
