All I said was that libertarians vote the way they do for the same reason everyone else does -- to try to affect what issues get addressed and how. Truly, what bastards they are, eh?

The question, which you pose in your answer, is if the act satisfies the goal. If electing Democrats helps the libertarian cause, I need some more explaining.

The "conscience" vote is self-possesion. The only way it is not is when others enjoy it, too. I haven't seen it, at least not among straight-ticket voters I know, raincoats and all.
