I think R51 will go down in flames (that's the pro-tax package to just start construction projects in WA, and doesn't pay for them). After people started listening to KVI 570AM and realized that this bill really had no accountability in it the incentive was knocked out.

I just voted. There were long line but everything seemed to be going as expected. Good news, there was 4 poll watchers there, 2 RATS and 2 Pubbies. I know because I asked them. Our poling place was the city counsel chamber and the chairs on the dias were filled with election judges that seemed to be watching things very carefully. It was about 3:30 when I cast my vote and my register number was 1198. I asked what the number meant and the registrar told me that it meant that I was the 1198th person to vote in that precinct that day. I asked how many registered, she didn't know exactly but she thought she remembered a number of about 5000 or so. There were still lotes of people left to vote behind me and they were coming in the parking lot as I left. The polls stay open till 8PM so there is plenty of time to vote.

Standing in line I overheard two pol workers talking and they were saying that this is the biggest turnout that they have seen in a mid-term election. One indicated that she had wroked this same precinct pol for the last 10 years.

I live in Inver Grove Heights, MN it's a white bread, slightly yuppie middle class suburb just southeast of St. Paul. It is highly Republican! I would venture to say 60 to 65% registered Republican. So, If the turnout is this good here,...GOODBYE RATS, HELLO PUBBIES!

Voted this afternoon here in Texas. Straight ticket. Sanchez spent 60 million of his own money to become governor and hopefully it will be money thrown down the toilet tonight.

Checking in from Orlando. Voted straight Republican at about 5:15 p.m. - no lines and everything working efficiently. Followed through on my vow to vote out the Supreme Court rats and voted no to all the socialist amendments. Well, I did vote to save the pregnant pigs - couldn't talk myself out of it, but now I'm worried about the price hike in pork that will surely follow, and wondering if chickens and cows will be next.

Do all polling places have old people running them?

Those aren't old people. Those are dead Democrats.

Just voted in Wilton/Gansevoort, NY (Saratoga County). Voted straight Republican. Wife voted for Pataki even though she is a Democrat (a conservative one). Polling place was pretty busy, but since I've never voted there before, I'm not sure how to judge it. But other Republicans there were in high spirits!

>> Illinois - Straight Pubbie with the exception of writing in myself against 3rd U.S. Cong. Dist. Rep. Bill Lipinski who is running unopposed. << <<

I cast a write-in vote for myself as Cook County Comissioner, since I discovered two weeks ago (much to my dismay) that I am represented by Chicago 'RAT machine politician Jerry "the Iceman" Butler. He's running unopposed. Can't the Chicago 'RATs let us Cook suburbanites pick ANY local people anymore?

I know we're supposed to believe in sanity of the ballot booth, but I have no problem listing who I voted for:

Governor-- Jim Ryan (R)
Lt. Governor-- Carl Hawkinson (R) (solid conservative & instrumental in my decision to vote for J.R. Compare J.R.'s choice to George Ryan or even Cal Skinner's "choice" that matter)
Sec. of State-- Kris Cohn (R)
Attoneny General-- Joe Birkett (R)
Treasurer-- Rhys Read (LP) "Republican" Judy Baar Topinka is George Ryan AND Bobby Rush's "favorite" candidate, and yes, they are actively campaigning for her.
Comptroller-- Thomas Jefferson Ramsdell (R)
U.S. Senator-- Jim Durkin (R)
U.S. Represenative-- Ray Wardingley (R)
State Senator-- Frank Bertucci (R)
State Represenative-- Jim Brosnahan (D). He's pro-life, is a lifelong suburbanite and is running unopposed. NOT that I would normally vote Dem for state rep., but I can tolerate Brosnahan rather than a Chicago machine 'RAT who will surely "represent" me under the remap if Brosnahan ever steps down.

The GOP is the right choice in 90% of the races, but I NEVER vote a straight party ticket. George Ryan is proof of the facilicy of that.

We still have two hours until the polls close. Illinois freepers, GET OUT THERE AND VOTE if you haven't done so already. We're neck and neck with EVIL 'RATs like Lisa Madigan-- don't like Daley take over Illinois!

Voted for Erlich for governor of Maryland. It would be great to hear Townsend explain how she got beat in a liberal democrat state by an "extreme rightwing poluter with a grade of F from the NAACP."

"I just turned 18 last August and I voted in my first election today. I voted for good consevatives, and against some really silly initiatives."

Good for you, Rahiim. Welcome to FR.

How I wish I'd been as smart as you at 18. Hate to admit it, but I voted for Carter (sorry :) ) What a sheeple I was.
