Morris is proving himself to be a waterboy for the Democrats even though, according to him, he's now an Independent.

Morris is a consultant. Most consultants get so sick of candidates that they really could give a rat's ass about political affiliations after a while. Trust me on this one. :-)

The only poll that counts is Nov 5,2002

That's my motto.

I help myself recuperate from recent surgery by thinking:

"Oh, boy, on Wednesday Leahy and Jeffords can return to obscurity!"

Guess Zogby is trying to create an explanation ahead of time for this sudden groundswell of Democratic (ie: dead, illegal, and/or double-dipping) voters whose votes will miraculously find their way into the system.

The last couple of articles written by Morris have been along this vein. Don't forget where he came from. I hope Zogby is wrong on this.

Then why was he urging Bush to STOP CAMPAIGNING for Republicans last week, claiming it was "hurting Bush's approval numbers" (snort)?

I've taken Dick's word seriesly recently but this time he's wrong.

And in 2000 when he said Hitlary wouldn't run.

Sounds like Zogby has adjusted his polls to reflect [what he expects to be] high Democrat turnout.

1. He's a consultant.
2. He's not currently working for Bush.
3. When he goes on talk shows or writes columns, he needs something interesting to talk about.
4. Go back into his track record, if you really care, and see where he's ended up...he's no "whore for the Democrats". He's just a whore. There's a difference. ;-)
5. Maybe he's right -- you won't know until the numbers come in and someone picks up a mint copy of _How to Lie with Statistics_. :-)
6. This is NOT a dagger before you. :-) Calm down. Morris has no influence on anything -- he just wants to have something interesting to discuss when he goes on talk shows. :p
7. Nobody has a clue about anything with the races this tight until the 5th. So just vote, sheesh! ;-) If Dick is at the polls pointing you in the wrong direction, call me up and let me know, and I'll get in contact with the poll watchers. :-P

CALM DOWN AND VOTE! VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE! Hehe. :-)

Morris takes his numbers from Zogby. The Gallup Poll, later than Zogby and more reputable, gives exactly the opposite picture. So does the New York Times of all people.

Morris is whipping a dead horse. He's gone out on a limb and made his bet. People like me have gone out on a limb and made the opposite bet, with better information.

Republicans +2 in the Senate, with the Landrieu runoff in Louisiana to come. Morris is all wet.

Well, if the polls predict a high Dem turnout and groundswell, then the voter fraud might not be so apparent...

The Gallup Poll, later than Zogby and more reputable, gives exactly the opposite picture.

Zogby was the only pollster who had the 2000 Presidential race correctly called the Sunday before the election -- all the other pollsters had Bush with leads between 3 and 8 percent nationally and a decisive majority of electoral votes. Zogby called it dead even in the popular vote and a squeaker in the Electoral College, which in fact, it was.

Actually, this is just a desperate move on Dicks part.

Everybody hates the guy, and he's now completely outside the power structure of Washington. Dems & Repubs who know anything of significance won't talk to him anymore, and his value as insider has gone down the tubes.

If the Repubs are slaughtered on Tuesday, he looks like a genius, his stock goes up, etc.

If the Repubs win big, he slithers into history as a political has-been & hack, with this minor footnote - He got his toes sucked by a hooker while talking to his friend, the Pervert in Chief Bubba Clinton. Clinton was supposedly doing something with a cigar and a 21 year old intern at around the same time. Yuk!

I am quite calm, thank you. Just pointing out that Dickie was as transparent as glass last week and apparently hasn't moved one inch in the direction of "more opaque" yet.

Ridiculous to suggest Bush should have stopped campaigning. Political capital is useless unless one spends some occasionally.

Exactly. Zogby has a solid track record; when he talks we all would do well to listen.

True, but in the very same election he had Hillary losing to Lazio. We all know what happened there.

Like most pollsters, Zogby gets it right about 50% of the time. If I were to take all the contested races and flip a coin, I would have the same chance of being right as Zogby or any other Pollster.

Tues Polls won't mean crap. Just watch what happens when these tight race get contested in the circuit courts. We can thank Al Gore for that.
