Morris takes his numbers from Zogby. The Gallup Poll, later than Zogby and more reputable, gives exactly the opposite picture. So does the New York Times of all people.

Morris is whipping a dead horse. He's gone out on a limb and made his bet. People like me have gone out on a limb and made the opposite bet, with better information.

Republicans +2 in the Senate, with the Landrieu runoff in Louisiana to come. Morris is all wet.

The Gallup Poll, later than Zogby and more reputable, gives exactly the opposite picture.

Zogby was the only pollster who had the 2000 Presidential race correctly called the Sunday before the election -- all the other pollsters had Bush with leads between 3 and 8 percent nationally and a decisive majority of electoral votes. Zogby called it dead even in the popular vote and a squeaker in the Electoral College, which in fact, it was.
