Happy Halloween!
Please tell us any scary, creepy, spooky encounters you have had with paranormal phenomena. Let's see which freeper has the freakiest story to tell on this Halloween night.
My sister had night terrors, and paralysis was not a part of it. Shw would wake up in the middle of the night and run up and down the hallway screaming at the top of her lungs. this went on for several months.
My mom took her to a doctor and said it was night terrors and that she'd outgrow it. In time they stopped, but a few years they came back, but after the second episode of them, they never did come back again. My sister wouldn't remember them the next day. It was like she was still asleep when she was running around screaming! Weird.
As she got older & her screams got louder ("you're just using the inspection as an excuse to eat all the Snickers bars"), I considered inventing a small, sickly baby brother for her & carrying around my own Trick or Treat bag: "Could you put a piece of candy in this bag for her small, sickly baby brother?" My daughter said she not go Trick or Treating with me if I did that. She just didn't have a sense of humor.
Is that the bed with the metal box attached that takes pesetas and is labeled "Magic Fingers?"
(True story - want to be grossed out next time you go to a hotel? Take a blacklight with you, turn off all the room lights, then shine the light on the bedspread. Certain, er uh, "proteins" secreted by human males glow brightly when exposed to ultraviolet light. And most hotels don't launder the bedspreads as often as they do the sheets.)
In 1983 we rented an apartment in Albany, NY. Ours was the second story of a two story house recently redone. New appliances, new fixtures, new carpet etc.. The landlord was building a studio apartment in what was once the attic. My roommate and I were looking for a 2 bedroom apartment but with the price just being a little higher than we were planning to spend on a 2 BR we took this 3 BR unit with the hopes of finding another roommate.(A story for another day) On many occasions we would footsteps walking in the unfinished studio above us. The first few times we went up the small stair to see what was going on. The door was always locked and there was no response to our knocking. I was able to open the lock with my student ID card. Every time we checked, we found nothing. It was just one room so it didn't take long to "search". Sometimes the lights were on, sometimes not. After several times we learned to ignore these strange sounds unless we had company when they occurred. Then we would show our guests that there was no living being upstairs. Turns out that the house was totally redone because of a fire which claimed one life. In the basement of this house we found a roll-up type desk with bumper stickers from all over the US on it. It was in poor condition and did not belong to us or the people renting the first floor. We asked the landlord if we could have it and he said sure, it wasn't his either. We arranged to have it removed and once it was gone we never heard the walking above us again. I believe this desk must have belonged to the person who died in the fire or someone associated with him.
